Romney campaign quickly distances itself from Mitt's statement of support for Obama's Iran policy

Mitt Romney defines his "red line" with respect to Iran in his interview with George Stephanopoulos:

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Let's talk about Iran. You've been quite critical of the president's policy. Also Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel has suggested he wants more clear red lines from the United States. What is your red line with Iran?

MITT ROMNEY: Well, my red line is Iran may not have a nuclear weapon.

As it turns out, that's the same red line as articulated by President Obama, a fact which Stephanopoulos pointed out:

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: President Obama said exactly the same thing. He said it's unacceptable for Iran to have a nuclear weapon. So your red line is the same as his.

MITT ROMNEY: Yeah, and I laid out what I would do to keep Iran from reaching that red line.

Highly recommend folks read this; it's an easy/quick read and just unbelievable again

1. Dude might as well just come out for war

I mean, we all know that's the real difference right? Romney would actually start bombing before Obama would. We know this already. He won't admit it because it's suicide at this point but what does he have to lose at this point?

4. But we don't know that.

All we know for sure is that Mitt is going to lie about what he thinks and what he plans to do until he gets close enough to steal it.

The same thing happened with George W. Bush. After months of wrangling over the election, when it was finally clear that the fascists had won, journalists were at a total loss to say what GWB planned to do, because he had told at least two lies about every major issue at hand.

Then he went on to act with total incompetence, blamed the recession caused by the threat of his election on Bill Clinton, and then went on vacation until Osama bin Laden bailed him out. The ship of state was already adrift when bin Laden torpedoed it--and GWB's people were the ones who blew the boilers.

Romney would be exactly the same. All this deception and double-talk does not conceal an evil plan. It conceals no fucking plan, and an indifference to the issues at hand beyond the ones that will personally enrich Romney and his cohorts.

Exactly like Shrub.

2. Did the campaign just throw the candidate under the bus?

I miss Olbermann. This would be the sort of thing that he would spend a segment on, chewing Romney's ass out.

3. Romney may have a law degree, but he doesn't think like a lawyer

He doesn't seem to think through the issues when he's away from the speaker's podium. He doesn't anticipate moves on the other side or questions in every shade of nuance and subtlety. Even an obvious and simple question like this seems to stun him into slipping into a vague description of what he would do to Iran. How many times has he or his campaign had to backtrack on a statement? He doesn't think well on his feet. That's because those who think well on their feet think all the time, anticipate every move, and try to see both sides in order be able to do this. In other words, Romney isn't Obama.
