Introducing Discussionist: A new forum by the creators of DU

In three and a half years we will be right back in this same spot.

The republicans will not have nominated a moderate level-headed candidate but will once again kowtow to the far right and the left will represented of America.

They will lose again which is fine with me. They will not have learned a thing. And I don't think the crazy racists in the GOP will let Jindal anywhere near the nomination.

1. Jindal all of a sudden doesn't sound like Kenneth from 30 Rock anymore. He must have disappeared

for a while after that State of the Union response (what was that, 2009?) and practiced not sounding like a complete dork.

4. As far "right" as Rmoney went

he did not get the RWs to the polls. BHO was 7 million votes down from 2008, and they still did not come close.

If they nominate a mainstream candidate that might be credible, 4 or 5 million of their far RW fan base will stay home, and they will lose.

If they nominate a far RW candidate, they will lose soccer mom country is the suburbs, and come in second again.

Their coalition is thin and will be thinner in 2016 by perhaps 2 percent, just in demographics alone. Everything has to go right for them and they need us to pick a really poor candidate for it to work at all.
