8. "Thank you for your concern" I wish you could think

about adverse conditions in the world. But I hope your post was simply your emotional reaction to facing reality.........and potential moments in your future.

I have about two dozen loved ones I want alive tomorrow.

Chances are, about 25% of them will die before I do. OR I will get hit by a truck tomorrow and die before any of them do.

I don't really care to know the end story of this, but I have to think about it once in a while, and don't we all need to think about this?

and in a week or two of DU membership I'm really tired of the disrespect met by anyone but the landslide crowd (that's you). Nobody can voice the slightest bit of doubt; it's politically incorrect. BULL!

3. We here at DU should migrate

To Canada. They'll understand, and take sympathy for us wanting to leave such a stupid country. Maybe we can be their underpaid and work there for 4 years or till America comes to it's senses. At least making $10.00 an hour is better than what wages here will be like. America will become another China as far as rights and pay if Repuke rule gets 8 years.

32. Not a workable solution...

1) Canada's government is about as bad as the U.S. during the Dubya years, with little hope of it changing soon.

2) Canada has tightened up its immigration standards in the past quarter-century. Nowadays, if you have in-demand professional skills and are 50 or under (and, of course, have a spotless police record -- and being able to speak French is a bonus), you probably have a good chance. A mid-fiftysomething nature photographer like myself? Fuggedaboudit. And, although I'm probably in a position to be able to retire at my age, Canada doesn't offer retirement visas unless you have close family who are citizens there. (There are other options, such as an investor visa, but that requires that you have several hundred thousand dollars just sitting around that you won't be needing for a few years.)

Sad to say, emigrating to greener pastures isn't as easy as it used to be.

13. No, exactly the opposite, over 2000 hours labor in support of

Obama in 2008, another 1000 in 2012.

You just don't want to deal with a future that is NOT of OUR OWN making......if we lose, we still are alive.

I ask questions you don't ever want to deal with.

And, to be sure, I hope you DO NOT HAVE TO DEAL with them, now, or ever.

But, do you have the guts to ever deal with them? I guess you don't, as your post shows us here.

I hope you don't ever have to deal with my question. Please excuse my frying your brain. I don't want you to ever have to waste your time with a Democrat losing.........but I see so many supporters from 2010 or 1980 doing that. I hope you don't ever have to do that!!!!

27. Make that 8, possibly 12 and probably more.

I mean, they'll have convinced the electorate to make an unprecedented swing from a landslide winner who has brought the country back from a horrible recession caused by massive banking excess and perhaps the worst President of all-time, who succeeded in finding and then ordering the decimation of the architect of the greatest terrorist atrocity to hit its shores, who has brought to an end one war and is scaling down another, who has a grass roots movement like no other & attracts an incredible amount of -public- funding, who pulls minorities to his side in unprecedented numbers.

Sorry, if Obama loses this, the Democratic Party will, at the very least, have to make a radical rightward turn on economic and welfare policy simply to stay afloat, because it will be absolutely essential to attract the Kochs, the Adelsons and their ilk to stand a chance. That's just common sense, because if this election is successfully bought, the rules change and, realistically, there's no going back. They only - and it's slight - chance of a (D) President in the following decade will be if they drastically outflank the GOP on tax-cuts, deregulation, less welfare and so forth. That might be enough to tempt the libertarian oligarchy to cross the aisle.

I mean, they COULD bide their time and rough it out, but there are no guarantees there, because the further you travel down a certain path, the more people become accepting of the status quo. Nobody will notice, nobody will care.

26. There is no mystery. The country would become the far right, and remain so for decades to come

Roe v Wade would be overturned because romney would appoint judges to do so, and yes there will be judges up in the next four years that he will appoint.

Women's rights would be taken back at least 70 years

Planned parenthood, PBS, would have funding slashed. Social security and Medicare would be privatized. Wall street would finally get the opportunity to get hold of people's social security

The ACA would have the most important parts reversed

We would commit more troops to the middle east

We would follow the PNAC doctrine of manifest destiny in the middle east. No reason not to believe it, since the advisors with bush, are now with romney

If you believe what they say, interest rates would eventually start going back up, much sooner than they should, and if it is anything like the thirties, we have a very real potential to sink into a real depression.

If this fuckwad wins, we'll be the laughingstock of the world. And then the world may fear and loathe us. You can kiss representative democracy good bye. The middle class will disappear and we'll become a nation of have and have nots. Corporations will be well represented in Congress and our voices will be drowned out. With corporations calling the shots in tandem with government, fascism will come to rule the land. All you pollyannas who don't think this could happen, it could. The Republicans are trying hard to steal this one outright and never underestimate the stupidity of the American voting public.
