I put heads of cabbage in my fridge in "Greenbags" on Thanksgiving weekend.

They're still perfect, although one or two are actually trying to grow and pushing up a bud through the "crown" of the head.

Which tells me two things that I already knew. Cabbage stores very well, especially if it is a winter storage variety as most of these were, and Greenbags work great.

Just need to thaw out the corned beef that's still in the freezer from LAST year. I think it will still be ok, it was vacuum packed. If not, I'll just get a new one.

1. Are Greenbags the ones with silver in the plastic to prevent food going bad? That's a long time!

I might have to give those a try if that's what you're talking about here.

Food does last longer which is great for a sinle person. I've had fresh parsley last 2weeks!

3. Thanks, as a single it's a battle to juice fast enough to use my fresh greens, etc.

I like to go to COSTCO for the big bags of fresh spinach, parsley, cilantro and ginger root and some times I can't get to them fast enough..YIKES!

At least I have a friend who composts my very costly nistakes.

I think Amazon carries these bags, so I'll check it out there.

4. Mine are dollar store generic equivalents.

You get 6 to 10 for $1. Check out Dollar Tree stores in your region, they carry them.

5. I'll check that out. That price is better for my budget.

6. Mine too. I've found the Dollar Tree ones work just as well as the $9 Debbie Whatshername ones.

The color seems to change periodically from green to blue to yellow, but they all work the same.
