Growth recovering following an op to remove Baroness Thatcher

Baroness Thatcher is recovering in hospital following a 'minimally invasive' operation to remove a growth from her bladder.

1. Randolph Churchill, son of Winston, had similar things said about him.

Evelyn Waugh, who was a friend, captured the mood of many after Churchill had had a growth removed by surgery. On hearing that the growth was not malignant, Waugh said "It was a typical triumph of modern science to find the one part of Randolph which was not malignant and to remove it."

2. Made me chuckle, that one.

Meanwhile, I have no feelings either way about Thatcher.

I have little empathy, but she's now a sick old lady with dementia who can do little harm. I'd rather concentrate on the clear and present danger represented by her successors.
