Rumor has it Suder to run for Galloway's seat
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/03/16/1074977/-Wisconsin-state-Sen-Pam-Galloway-R-facing-recall-will-resign
He got a speeding ticket in February 2011 for which he gave an Athens address - his mothers address actually, as though he was living with her. People in Abby who are his neighbors say he's never at his house. As a side note, he somehow got his ticket scrubbed from CCAP, which I suspect was going to become a campaign issue. I mean, what average Joe can get a ticket scrubbed from the court system? Galloway's resignation will make this a very interesting recall election season. Her seat has always been Democratic. The only reason we lost it was Decker's ego. We'll see if Suder takes the bait.

1. do you think they are planning it this way?

replace a weakened galloway with a presumed stronger candidate with the need of a messy primary?

2. I'm sure there has been some coordination of this

This district was specifically designed so Galloway could move to Marshfield where her husband works. That's why the City was literally cut in half to accommodate her. Now Suder can establish domicile just about 10 miles down highway 29 and run for an open seat......
The fact that we haven't been able to get a response from him in Marshfield has had us wondering why he would forsake his new district ...especially when it carried the largest block of votes in the whole district...this could be why. |

3. Petrowski

It looks to me Petrowski will run for the Republicans in the 29th. Athens is in the current 12th district so it will not be in the recall election although it is moving back into the 29th again for the 2014 election. Suder currently resides in 23rd senate district which holds his entire assembly district. The only way Suder runs for the state senate is if he can convince Moulton to pull a Galloway.

4. The argument is that Suder doesn't reside in the 23rd.

Last edited Sat Mar 17, 2012, 10:51 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1) While it's true Athens proper is in the 12th, Suder isn't above carpetbagging to get a better senate district. It's all about ego with him.
Thanks for clarifying the district lines. I had originally believed the city was in Galloway's district. My bad. |

5. I've had a couple tickets that no longer appear on CCAP

A speeding ticket and seatbelt ticket. I think that minor civil infractions only stay on the record for a certain period.
