IOS7 sucks

Is it just me? Icons suck crap. I feel like I've just moved from an elegant watch to a swatch.

1. Strongly contrasting bright pastels are the fad right now...

Just look at Windows 8 and any number of other web apps and wed sites. They all use single hues across large swaths contrasting with small amounts of white, black or other pastels.

3. If I was his age I'd be crying too

It really is ugly. Didn't they focus-group test this thing?

4. Is it just the color of the icons that suck or do you have a more technical reason as to why ios7

sucks?

Is ios7 unstable or something?

I know of some security issues that should be fixed soon so the security problems sucks and some apps don't work for various reasons so that could suck too but one could say that those know problems are typical development issues.

So why does ios7 suck?

7. Not really but if you say so.

I don't have kids maybe sucking crap is an acceptable rational and makes sense to those with kids?

I would just like to know why it sucks crap in his/her opinion in more technical terms rather than in more shall we say subjective terms.
What sucks crap for one may be da bomb for someone else.

Same applies with the elegant watch, I know what a Swatch is but what does the OP consider an elegant watch? I wear a Longine Chronometer as a daily watch and it is far from elegant but some may consider it elegant. A little perspective goes a long way.

8. I know you are, but what am I?

.
.
.
"Icons suck crap" seems pretty descriptive to me... AND you had someone else be
more specific with the pastel color schemes?
.
And what the HECK does it matter what they consider an elegant watch to be -- be
it Longine or Zenith or Patek Phillipe? It's quit e obviously a visual reference to
lowkey attractiveness vs gaudy and cheap.
.
I don't see a single thing "technical" about "Icons suck crap".
.
Not many posts. You wouldn't happen to be connected to Apple in some way, would you?

12. No, I thought I was clear

There are two aspects to UI/UX. One is visual (how pleasing it is to look at), one is procedural/technical (what kind of steps you have to go through to accomplish anything). I used to do UI/UX for a living. I don't have an issue with anything technical, but the fact is that - for me - it's become so garish it's unenjoyable. This underscores the importance of a pleasing visual interface.

I believe Apple froze backupdates on Friday so I don't think I can go back (the restore really has to do with the personal data, not the O/S). I'm going to try today, but I don't think it'll fly. Think I'm screwed.

5. This is worse than the roll out of DU3!

(The complaining, that is...)

I actually like most of the changes (that I've noticed). The way folders of apps are handled, the multi-tasking screen(s) vs the old multi-tasking bar, the functionality of the notification center and control center are definitely an improvement - although it is kinda weird that the color scheme is different between them, I'd prefer the darker look for both but I guess I don't really care that much. I do wish I could make the battery icon in the status bar white/black instead of green.

I barely use any of the Apple apps (except occasionally Safari and the App store), so I guess not much has changed for me except the few things mentioned above - most of which I think is an improvement.

Interestingly enough I'm trying out iTunes Radio right now and I skipped over an Alice in Chains song and it came up with a Jerry Cantrell song to replace it. WTF? That is inexcusable. iOS7 does suck!

9. I think if you backed up you phone

you should be able to go back to iOS6.

But, I'm not an expert.

I like the iOS 7. It's a cleaner look and has a lot of nice features.

10. Ugh!

I can't see a thing! The phone book has light colored text on a white background, which is just a big glare to me. And there's not enough color contrast in the keyboard either. So calling and texting is really frustrating for me.

Everything is very slow. Opening or refreshing a web page takes forever. I sent sent a picture yesterday...7 hours later, the recipient received it.

When I receive a text and click the icon, it opens the last message I read, not the new message I received. And to use the back button, you have to tap the bottom of your screen to access it, but if you are on a site that doesn't have a mobile format, you end up clicking links on the page instead.

I only upgraded because one of my apps stopped working correctly. I should have left it alone and just found a new app.

11. You have the option of making the type bolder.

Check out the tips and tricks in the link above. I think it is tip #7.
