What Mormons Really Believe (?)
I really don't know how much of this Mormons really believe. It certainly is bizarre, but that is true of many religions.

1. I don't really care about a candidate's religion unless their agenda is to advance its
|
principles while in office. I really don't care whether Romney believes that Jesus was a space alien from the planet Kolob. But if his belief turns off the evangelical nuts and they don't vote for him then I'm all for introducing religion into the conversation. Too much is at stake to not take every advantage. If the way he wears his tie costs him the election with the nuts on the right then I'm all for discussing his choice in ties.

if the evangelicals are hypocritical enough to vote for Romney because he is the "Not-Obama" candidate even though they would find his religion more sacrilegious than Obama's policies. I think many of them wear their religion when it suits their preferences.

So, if something is "legal", but, according to your religion is not "moral" ... what happens when you're tested on your faith? You know, like racism ... (the dark/black man is evil) ... or "the definition of marriage is one man and one or more women" ... you know, that Mitt's grandpa decided he loved more than his country ... |

I, too, have had some first hand experience seeing them commit murder with no chance of being apprehended by their cronies. How do they achieve this without more public knowledge, you might ask? One of them said to me "If anyone had anything on paper to tie them to organized crime- they would be dead before it could reach the light of day." Their words.

5. Most religions have some pretty weird beliefs.
|
Traditional Christians believe, more or less, that God sent his son, who was actually himself, to become human and die in order that he (God) would give eternal life to the people who believed Jesus was God. That's kind of weird, not to mention illogical. But I have to say, the Mormons out-weird traditional Christians any day. And if this is what the Mormons believe I can understand why traditional Christians don't think they really are Christians at all - I guess your average Catholic, Lutheran or Baptist might classify many Mormon beliefs as not just weird but downright heretical.
I think it's more like Scientology - a goofy mixture of theology and science fiction. |

Most jobs barely scratched above minumum), merchandising store shelves with coca-cola products for an outfit run by Mormons. something about human experience and how some of it is formulated and shared, perhaps sort of like the way Greek mythology can be regarded as a primitive way of explaining things like thunder or a tsunami or good luck or . . .
Perhaps the perceived threat of Mormonism is that though it is similar to mainstream Christianity it is also more different, so its enough like to be attractive, but also enough different to be dangerous. |

Whether it's a true representation of their view of reality or simply a film made by a competing religion, it seems suspect. Both groups would be arguing over things they can't prove.
No matter how he's labeled in the religiously, Romney is a predator and meglomaniac. He is unfit emotionally or philosophically (or morally, if one goes that route) to be POTUS. Randian TeaBaggers don't need religion to want to impose a lot of sociopathic rubbish on us. I think Romney fits that model better. |

|
I looked on the youtube page and there was some booing and hissing. Then I found a Mormon's comments, who said she'd been in it for 35 years and had a great life in LDS. She gave a 'If you haven't tried it, don't knock it' reply without debating the merits or 'facts.'
The problem is that for them, you can't prove anything with science, etc. And Democrats are big into what is called 'objective reality,' a ldiscussion of 'facts' and 'truth.' But others have, I suppose, a 'consensus reality,' where they believe in a 'truth' handed down by others or popular where they live. I don't know how criticism of anything or anyone would ever reach them. We truly are living parallel universes, in a way that can never really get along. |

As for the contents of the video, I take some of it with a grain of salt, as I haven't been able verify a lot of it. The people who produced the video, are Christians who have gone after a lot of religions they find not "acceptable" to their beliefs.
