It would generate a $53-billion bottom-line benefit to the economy
Productivity would surge to a net benefit of $26.1-billion
351,000 man years would be saved annually

EMPLOYER BENEFITS

Save $2.49-million in staff-related expenses *
Losses related to absenteeism would be reduced by $404,617 for each employer *
Each employer would gain an additional $1.5-million in increased productivity

*Based on an employer with 250 employees

EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

Canadian workers would save $8.5 billion in disposable income that could be invested elsewhere in the economy
Driving commuters would save an average of 9.1 days each year
Transit commuters would save three work weeks each year

1. work from home as an software developer ... love it

but then my kids are grown. It's tough for some who have
younger kids. My local gas station is not happy, they miss out
on my gas,coffee and donut money. On the plus side I eat much better,
am much more productive.

3. I miss it.

Wish more employers - especially those with IT shops - would get into the 21st century and realize that all the space they're paying rent for is just a waste of money & does nothing to increase productivity, as the article notes.
