Oath Keepers ‘Patriot’ Group Plans 50 Anti-Gun Control Rallies (on Friday 2/8/13)Last edited Fri Feb 8, 2013, 12:34 PM USA/ET - Edit history (2)

Oath Keepers ‘Patriot’ Group Plans 50 Anti-Gun Control Rallies Tomorrow by Ryan Lenz on February 7, 2013 In the wake of White House moves to implement some gun control by using executive orders, the antigovernment “Patriot” right has exploded with fury, claiming that virtually any regulation amounts to an infringement of the Constitution or even a prelude to a national “gun grab” by federal forces hoping to disarm citizens once and for all. These and similar claims have come from nearly every corner of the radical right. But one of the most noteworthy recent responses comes from the Oath Keepers, a group of conspiracy-minded current and former members of law enforcement and the military who believe a tyrannical and gun-hating “New World Order” is planned by global elites. Vowing to fight any legislation to ban “assault weapons,” the Oath Keepers have announced rallies at state houses across the nation on Friday with the aim of sending a message to lawmakers that the “they will be held accountable if they choose to dishonor” their oath to the Constitution. -skip- In a December manifesto entitled “My Personal Pledge of Resistance Against Any Attempt to Disarm Us by Means of an ‘Assault Weapons Ban,’” Rhodes denounced federal efforts to rob him of “every terrible implement of the soldier” and vowed not to disarm, “regardless of what law is passed by the oath breakers in Congress, or signed into law by the oath breaker in the White House.” “It is the height of Orwellian perversion of language and logic to say that disarming you of the most effective arms for combat that you still have is somehow not really disarming you, because you still have hunting rifles and shotguns,” Rhodes wrote, referring to calls to restrict or ban “assault rifles.” “And you can bet that if you let them take your military semi-autos, next on their list will be your bolt action rifles, which they will call ‘sniper rifles’ (and by God, that is certainly what they are good for!).” Read more: http://www.splcenter.org/blog/2013/02/07/oath-keepers-patriot-group-plans-50-anti-gun-control-rallies-tomorrow/ ol' ELMER is a real prize... The core of the Oath Keepers is its 10 “Orders We Will Not Obey.” The orders relate directly to Patriot fears of a government conspiracy — alleged plans to impose martial law, shuttle Americans into concentration camps and so on. Rhodes has warned that the government is teetering on the brink and has encouraged residents in Flathead County, Mont., to begin forming citizen militias. “It’s not that the iceberg is coming. … We already hit the iceberg,” Rhodes was quoted saying during a speech after arriving in Montana. And how does that play out in one of the Ivy League’s most conspiratorial minds? He put it quite simply: “The Titanic is going down.” http://www.splcenter.org/get-informed/intelligence-files/profiles/elmer-stewart-rhodes *** A jury acquitted Dyer of the federal weapons charge but the sexual abuse charges are still pending. Dyer — who popped up often in YouTube videos to complain about the "New World Order" and other apparently looming dangers — had spoken on behalf of Oath Keepers at a 2009 Tea Party event in Oklahoma. Just days before the appearance, Rhodes, who later sought to distance his group from Dyer, promised that Dyer would "deliver one heck of a fiery speech." http://www.splcenter.org/get-informed/intelligence-report/browse-all-issues/2010/fall/oath-keepers-group-battered-by-members- ha! i think that last url was SUPPOSED to read that way!

2. excellent news!

I'd like to see more of these fringe hate groups have their gun orgy rallies. it should give pause for thought to any reasonable person sitting on the fence of siding with the NRA-holes, or taking a closer look at, and backing common-sense gun laws supported by gun owners such as myself. maybe White Aryan Resistance can hold a march as well.

This must be just another radical group out of control. For all the haters if groups like Taliban, this is an American Taliban, do as they say or you could be eliminated. They complain of NWO but without the intelligence of the NWO think tank but are wannabes. We are entitled to many freedoms in the USA but don't need the control groups like this, live and let live.

Gun Rights Supporters Descend On Statehouse
By Mike Corbin - mcorbin@wibc.com | @WIBC_MikeCorbin 2/8/2013 Dozens of gun rights supporters descended on the Indiana Statehouse Friday. Members of Oath Keepers say their goal is to preserve gun rights that are under fire in America. They say supporting the Second Amendment is crucial to securing American freedom overall. Oath Keepers estimates it has at least 20-thousand members nationwide. They're holding rallies across the nation. Nick Voils of Speedway attended the rally. Voils says hammers and blunt objects kill more people than guns. Robert Smith of Indianapolis says more people are killed by drunk driving than guns and you don't hear calls for a ban on cars. Scott Hodson of Martinsville says he simply came to support 2nd Amendment rights and they want their voices heard. http://www.wibc.com/news/story.aspx?ID=1883529 nobody is shooting at the gun rights. we are actually free, or 90+%. whatever. they don't know how many members they have? the leader went to Yale and THAT is organization? isn't it technically a 'public show of bullshit' and not a 'rally'? if nobody wants to join your cause? if, by 'blunt object, you mean YOURSELF, then, yes. good point, you can't drive drunk w/o a car. much better idea than DUI laws. i think they should put a copies of the 2nd on the hoods of their cars and smash them with hammers. that would make more sense! |

*** 200 people, probably like 4-5 are actually members. i wonder how many cops that WEREN'T fired are members? edit: gee, what ELSE do those two 'marxists' have in common? ... One speaker, former gubernatorial candidate Ray McBerry, warned the crowd that “the foreign-born Marxist in the White House and his Marxist attorney general” were using “staged crisis events — yes, I said staged crisis events” to justify confiscation of their weapons. That got a loud cheer and applause. According to McBerry, the Obama administration is using these “staged crisis events” in exactly the same way that Adolph Hitler used the Reichstag fire, as an excuse to impose complete tyranny on the American people. The national socialist government in Washington is following exactly the same blueprint to power that the national socialist government in Germany followed, he said, reeling off a string of comparisons that would be uncanny if true. That too drew strong applause. “Which federal gun laws are constitutional?” McBerry asked. “NONE!” the crowd roared back. “You know the answer,” he said smiling. (Just as an aside, earlier this week McBerry issued a press release announcing his endorsement of U.S. Rep. Paul Broun for U.S. Senate.) http://blogs.ajc.com/jay-bookman-blog/2013/02/08/today-at-the-capitol-u-s-democracy-in-action/?cxntfid=blogs_jay_bookman_blog |

25. maybe i underestimated the OKs- they are endorsed by ted STOOGENT- he's very intellectual...
|
NOT!!!
He explained: "There is an official organization called 'Oath Keepers,' and these are heros of law enforcement and the military who will not obey an order, an illegal, anti-Constitution, oath-breaking order to infringe that far on our Second Amendment rights." He predicted that "many will" refuse to enforce orders violating their interpretation of the Second Amendment, but not all, and he cited the Waco, Texas attack during the Clinton administration, as an example. "I'm in the gun industry," he said. "I have my own Ted Nugent line of ammo that has sold out every pallet that we can back into a sporting goods store." http://washingtonexaminer.com/ted-nugent-ammo-sells-out-says-cops-wont-obey-obama-on-guns/article/2518607 translation- "my lawyer, who has an actual brain, told me i could make some money off these idiots by putting my name on boxes of bullets. derp futz blarg BECAUSE 2ND AMENDMENT!!" |
