Group pushes anti-Hagel case
by Joseph Morton
Christians United For Israel has more than 400 people in town this week — hailing from nearly every state in the union — to lobby against Chuck Hagel’s nomination as defense secretary.
The group’s founder and chairman, controversial pastor John Hagee, introduced Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, to the group’s Monday night dinner gathering in a Capitol Hill hotel ballroom.
Cornyn sought to fire up some of the ground troops who will be working against Hagel, a Republican who represented Nebraska in the Senate for two terms.
“This is not a matter of personalities. This is not a matter of politics. This is a matter about preserving America’s leadership in the world,” Cornyn said. “And this is about being a true friend to our allies and showing our enemies that we are united against the threat of terrorism and against the threat of a nuclear Iran.”

2. Whoever they are
their actions in this case are OK by me.
Hegel was just one more insult leveled by the Administration toward its LGBT*.* supporters. And not even the most recent one, sadly.
We just got DADT repealed, I don't want another homophobe running the military.

3. The ad attacked Hagel for not being a friend to Israel and
says he will greatly reduce funding for the military. Both were typical attack ads, an exaggeration of small facts. Well, I'm not happy with Israel these day and as for reducing military spending, that's something I'd like to see in my lifetime. Hagel's previous anti LGBT stand has honestly changed, along with many people I know and, I'm sure, many people you know as well.
