LANSING, MI - About a half dozen people who were protesting against right-to-work legislation were arrested outside the Senate chamber shortly after 12 p.m. today.

The protesters, who are among an estimated 3,000 union members and others demonstrating against right-to-work bills at the Capitol, were arrested for impeding the flow of pedestrian traffic, said Michigan State Police Inspector Gene Adamczyk.

He said the protesters were trying to push their way into the Senate chamber and laid down in a common walk way. They were asked to move and did not, he said.

-snip-

Union members and others in the Senate gallery applauded and cheered for those who were arrested as they were brought through the Senate floor.

3. Why Do The States Keep Electing This Bozos?

I live in a right to work state....it sucks for anyone who works for a living and is a blessing for bosses and business owners. They can hire and fire at will, going after them in court is almost impossible. It doesn't matter what the national elections do if the states keep letting these backward ass wingnuts get elected and let them run their states into the ground.

If we do not start a grassroots education program letting the masses know they are being sold a bill of goods, it will eventually turn us into a third world country full of crazy laws that only protect the haves, not the have nots.

6. He did

a Romney on them when he ran for office. He supported moderate policies. He also supported the auto bail out. He also got the support of some Democratic politicians in Michigan. Once he got in, then he turned to Mr Hyde. That is the same way Pat McCrory got to become Governor Elect of North Carolina. He was the Mayor of Charlotte for four Terms and supported building a mass transit program for Charlotte with Government funds. He is moving to the Right now as Governor. His first Bill will be to enact voter I.D. for North Carolina. Not only that, he is going to cut public education and move more to private schools. He is also going to allow oil companies to drill off North Carolina's coast. North Carolina don't know what they voted for, especially when they have an oil spill and the coastline is already shrinking below sea level, especially during hurricane season. That will affect wildlife and fishing too. I expect a rough ride for McCrory after the first two years of his Policies. North Carolina has not had Republicans in charge for decades. Wait till they see the difference.

8. We need a workers' revolution in Michigan

The Michigan Democratic party and our "leader" Mark Brewer have let down the working people of Michigan. The "leaders" have failed to sustain a majority in either the House or Senate in Michigan in any of the 17 years that Brewer has been the Chair. republicans are drinking champagne tonight celebrating the signing of legislation making Michigan a "right to work" state.

Brewer needs to go and he needs to go NOW!
