Republican Congressional Candidate Opines On ‘The Rape Thing’ (AUDIO)
Source: TPM
John Koster, Republican nominee in Washington’s First Congressional District, was captured on tape over the weekend explaining why he is opposed to abortion in the case of incest and rape. Incest he said, was “so rare.” Then he turned to rape. “On the rape thing, it’s like, how does putting more violence onto a woman’s body and taking the life of an innocent child that’s the consequence of this crime, how does that make it better?” Koster said. “You know what I mean?” It was the second time Koster tried to explain “the rape thing.” Democrats are balking at the language and calling it offensive. -snip- The audio was recorded at a fundraising event over the weekend in Everett, Wash. The Seattle Times reported the liberal group behind the clip “secretly audio-taped Koster” at the fundraiser. -snip- Read more: http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/10/john-koster-the-rape-thing.php

It's all about demographics. Some racist whites see it as maintaining control of the narrative. White babies must be born to maintain the and remain at the top of the of the food chain.

To condone forcing a woman to bear her rapist's child is the same as condoning the rape. You cannot separate the two. If God intended on the pregnancy to happen, then he intended upon the rape happening because that is the means by which the conception occurred. So you can't parse your way out of that (like that idiot from Politico was allowed to get away with saying on c-span's washington journal this morning without being challenged on it). At the end of the day, this moron and others like him are condoning the rape of women. Period. End of story. |

Could you all just crawl out from under that rock NOW and lets get all of your ignorance out at one time. Rape "thing"??? Incest "rare"?? "Know what I mean"?? No, I don't know what you mean! Where do these Neanderthals (no offense to our ancestors) get their stunning knowledge? Enough already.

7. This is my district
|
Jay Inslee (D) was our Representative but dropped out to run for governor, leaving the position vacant. Koster is the Republican running to fill this office. I filled out my ballot today (WA is mail-in) and definitely did NOT mark the space next to this idiot's name. I was surprised to learn that this latest piece of woman-hating was in this traditionally Democratic district.

|
the emotional effects of women. Not EVERY woman feels like his friend. Why should she care for an unwanted baby she has to carry for 9 months to give it up for adoption when maybe the woman has to go to work. He acts like carrying a baby is nothing. That is the problem with many men they really dont understand women and emotions. But maybe if he had a daughter or granddaughter who was raped I am sure he would feel different.

I worked as a Public Health Nurse and than a nurse in a juvenile correctional facility. Incest happens with more frequency than he knows. As far as abortion putting more violence in a woman's life how about having the rapist daddy having visiting rites to the child? This would put violence in her life forever.

23. Rape Thing
|
John, when you;
1. Grow a uterus and start ovulating 2. Are a victim of a brutal rape maybe, just maybe your opinion will carry weight. Maybe women across this country should demand castration for all right wing male fanatics to avoid this 'rape thing'. They appear to be the only group that is fixated on rape !!!! They are speaking in code. They do not believe a woman can be raped. They think women are at fault if they are raped. They think women are asking for it. They think women enjoy it. They think a woman's place in is the kitchen, pregnant and barefoot. They don't believe women should work outside the home. They don't believe a woman's work is valuable, or worth a fair wage. They don't believe in birth control. They want women to stay in a constant state of pregnancy. They want full control over women in this country. As a 59 year old female, I say NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will not give up the rights that we have fought for and won !!!!!!!!!!! Don't have an abortion if you don't want one. Don't use birth control if you don't want to. Don't fight for equal pay. Don't fight for equal rights. DON'T expect the strong women of the United States of America to lie down and roll over when you start demanding we give up our rights !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rock the vote ladies !!!! |

|
I don't anyway. These poetic musings on rape and child bearing are interesting in the abstract.... well maybe not interesting.... but when we have the REAL thing, a REAL rape and a REAL abortion are miles apart on the "violence".
And incest is COMMON! It's even in my upper middle class, country club members family.... and in plenty of people's families I know. It alas ain't rare. |

25. Tell that to the parents of the adopted child, that it was a product of violence and unwantedness,
|
when that child ends up with serious emotional problems and doesn't know why. (Sorry for the run-on sentence)
And incest is RARE?! REALLY?! One out of every 3 girls and one out of every 5 boys is sexually assaulted, mostly by FAMILY members or people they know! These sexual abuse defenders (republican men) need to face their own dark realities/pasts, because they, without a doubt, are victims of sexual trauma who choose to revictimize instead of heal. |

Last edited Thu Nov 1, 2012, 03:33 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) However, what's in the womb, is not a child. A fetus is not a child. You put a child in the womb, it dies. You take a fetus out of the womb, it dies. If they really thought the fetus were a child, the only rational thing to do would be rescue from that womb! That's a terrible-- no, a fatal-- environment for a child.
When a woman's choice is to abort you're not killing an innocent anything. You're preventing an eventual, unwanted child. |

They get raped and can conceive also. Force a CHILD, who has just experienced the worst trauma any female can endure, to accept that "gift" from your god? Would he tell that to his preteen daughter? Watch her belly swell with a rapist's baby who violated her and took her innocence away?
I had an 11 year old friend who was raped. She was in counseling from the rape alone for many years. When she was able to talk about it many years later, she told me that there would be no baby. She would have killed both herself and that rapist baby. She was just a child yet said she would have done just that. He doesn't think grown women wouldn't do the same? It WAS done in the past, either by their own hands, or in back alley abortions. Women, and even young girls, will do want THEY want, not some men in DC. |
