Gallup: Presidential Race Tied Again, Obama Approval Rating Still Above 50 Percent

President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney are knotted up in Gallup's second daily tracking poll to use a likely voter sample. In Wednesday's poll, conducted Oct. 3-9, Obama and Romney each earn the support of 48 percent of likely voters nationwide. On Tuesday, Romney held a 2-point edge. But even amid a tight presidential race, Obama has maintained his strong approval rating seen recently in Gallup's polling. Wednesday's release shows 53 percent of American adults approve of the job Obama is doing as president, compared with 42 percent who disapprove.
