Mitt Romney versus the 47 percentThis discussion thread was locked as off-topic by cyberswede (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum). Over the past few years, Republicans have developed a habit of railing against the 47 percent of Americans who don’t pay any federal income taxes. It’s a fairly misleading talking point, but it keeps resurfacing. And now Mitt Romney has picked up on it: Read more: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/ezra-klein/wp/2012/09/17/romney-my-job-is-not-to-worry-about-those-people/ Excellent charts and graphs detailing just who the 47% really are.

2. Team-Obama, MSNBC, & every progressive group need to repeat this over & over & over. IT'LL SINK HIM!
|
This needs to be the "gaffe" that KILLS THE ROMNEY CAMPAIGN. They need to make it into ads. They need to talk about it over and over and over again. The STUPID IGNORANT ARROGANT IDIOT has just villified HALF the country and even more. Calling anyone who votes for Obama and half the nation "lazy freeloaders who don't pay taxes" is just CRAZY and proves once and for all that he is unfit to be president. That 47% get BUSH TAX CUT DEDUCTIONS, but are also elderly on fixed incomes, the working poor, and the poor. BUT, MittTwit RobMe, the IDIOT, isn't even considering that these folks pay payroll taxes and state and local taxes and FEES of all kinds for services. HE IS AN UNFIT OUT OF TOUCH SILVER SPOONED TONE DEAF IDIOT.

I pay FICA, and guess what, I'm not voting for you. I'd vote for a yaller dog first (native Texan). Found a good medicine for athlete's foot of the tonsils yet?

5. Romney: the Democrats secret weapon to destroy the Republican Party thanks to Citizen's United!
|
I'm being sarcastic. I can't help it. If Romney isn't a secret weapon to destroy the Republican Party, I don't know what is. He has a SuperPAC destroy the really right wing zealot candidates. He confounds them with Romneycare while mumbling he will keep parts of Obamacare. Obama is a Protestant, with religious beliefs closer to their religious beliefs than Romney. What's Kolob? Romney is bringing into focus the fight between the "establishment" Republicans and the rest of them. The Tea Party Republicans, the Social Conservatives, the Ron Paul faction, should, by now, feel betrayed by Romney and the "establishment" Republicans. Is there any other Republican faction I missed, who should feel betrayed? Name a Republican faction, other than the "establishment" Republicans, who shouldn't feel betrayed. Romney is a secret weapon to destroy the Republican Party. Can there be any doubt? Too bad the Democrats can't claim Romney is our secret weapon. Thank you Citizen's United! Maybe now, the Republicans will join with the Democrats to reign in the Citizen's United decision. No. I'm giving too much credit to the Republicans. The Republicans won't see how the Citizen's United decision has devastated them. I can't believe Romney stumbles this badly again and again. He's the gift that keeps on giving. Okay. So I'm being sarcastic. I can't help it. |

This is analysis, not LBN. Please consider posting this in Good Reads, Politics 2012, or even GD. Ezra Klein is great.
