"Obama is spending all his time talking about facts rather than policy."
Yes, I heard this from a neighbor. Obama is showing what a weak candidate he is by being concerned about those pesky FACTS about Romney and Bain, so obviously he doesn't have anything substantial to talk about.
So I said, "Oh yeah, and if Obama had refused to release his tax returns, you'd be just dandy with that."

There has got to be a major disconnect between brain and lip with these people..otherwise they would be aware how asinine what they say sounds.

3. Romney is a threat to our very existence and the more people who know that the better off we are

I don't trust Romney being in charge of our nuclear weapons.
Not one bit. He reminds me of Greg Stillson. Don |

Last edited Mon Jul 16, 2012, 11:34 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1) that President Obama is talking about FACTS! I'm guessing that he meant to repeat the current right-wing talking point that he is talking about Bain not "issues" (which, of course, the Republicans are ALWAYS eager to talk about themselves

"Talking about facts"?
I had a discussion like this last night. The kindly woman sitting next to me was complaining about President Obama's campaign talking about Bain ... "What difference does it make?" So I took a moment to try and spell it out to her. "Well ... romney has said that his claim to fame, his basis for his presidential run is his success at Bain, right? He has said that he will bring his Bain business model of success to the Whitehouse, right? Well, I suspect that President Obama's team believes him ... they believe that he will bring that business model to the Whitehouse. The business model that out-sourced American jobs and destroyed American communities for the benefit of a few investors and mostly himself. I suspect that what the tax records will show is that romney was at the head of Bain when these decisions were made. Therefore, in making these decisions, he was unconcerned with the fate of American worker in order to make money for himself. That is probably not a characteristic that we would want in a public servant, right? But the larger issue is his refusal to take responsibility for his past. While I don't care for a business model that does not take into consideration its affect on the workers and communities, I completely understand that he was doing what his job required ... make as much money as he could. That's fine; but he should just say, 'What my tax records will show is I was in business and my business was to make money for my investors. The record clearly shows that I was damned good at that. My business was not a social service or community development agency.' And I would have no problem with him; but that is not what he is doing ... He is attempting to duck out on what he did; and that's a fundamental honesty/integrity issue." residentBambivalent to okay with |
