3. How did this happen?

Don't we have rich people on our side? Where are all those Hollywood stars when we need them? Warren Buffet? Soros? I don't get how this could happen.

12. You're the first person to ask where's the big money, but I've been thinking about it for a while.

Not whether or not they should give money, but why they should.

When you see people say there is no difference between the two parties and bash all Democrats equally, would you put your money there?

When we get appeals in emails saying our $5 or more will be matched, it's those celebrities and the big money people who are matching it. Those appeals are a poll about what people really value, so those with money know how the world is trending.

When people I know with enough to donate, are in unions even, said they "will not give a dime to Democratic Party because 'that Obama,' (insert right wing talking point here)," what message did that send to those people with big money?

That's the best answer I can give you, limpyhobbler. And I won't speak about this again. N/T.

17. I would say that the wealthy 1% have more purchasing power than Hollywood.

Yes, Buffett and Soros are both billionaires, but for every liberal business person, there are likely several more who are just as right wing in political ideology.

4. This is really upsetting.

A tremendous corporate machine behind every dinky Republican governor in the country. It's frightening.

5. I prefer to look at it this way:

If 34% of Walker's funds came from WI donors...that's $10.37M
If 74% of Barrett's funds came from WI donors...that's $..2.89M

That's a bit worse than a 3:1 spending split towards the GOP among the people and corporations of Wisconsin. We do pretty well in elections when the spending is that close. Even better admittedly when the money-gap is in our favor...but 3:1 is not terrible.

The GOP and Friends is probably going to outspend the President by a wider margin than that by November...and will almost assuredly lose.

7. Yes, but Barrett is the bad guy for taking help from unions

Walker has no spending limits plus takes money from ever fat cat Republican in the country and that is fair politics.

What hypocrites!

9. Walker had no limit on contribution per person, Barrett did

In a quirk in State law, because Walker was fighting recall, he could accept unlimited contributions from each person. The normal limits on the amount of contributions did not apply because it was not a regular election. Meanwhile, Barrett did have to comply with those limits because he was running for office.

15. That's it, right there.

That's the whole shebang explained in 1 graph.
$60 million dollars spent on ads bashing Barrett non-stop for 2 whole months.
And ads touting Walker as the next coming of Christ for 2 whole months.
