Here's what I don't get: this whole controversy over contraception

I would think the bean counters at all these insurance companies would be all over this and have been giving Birth Control away years ago. It would save the companies millions because they wouldn't have to pay for the healtcare of those children.

This country is so twisted, everything is about greed except the unborn, and they are more protected than the Commander in Chief.

1. All I can figure is this is their last-ditch effort

to change the nation's shifting demographics.

2. The 1% Cynically Panders to Religious Institutions In Order to Get Cheap Votes

No sane thinking American would ever object to women getting contraceptives through their health insurance. However, the 1% want to build up the "controversy" in order to win cheap votes from the insane.

Meanwhile, the 1%'s real economic agenda is literally destroying the American middle class.

4. Yep....

Issues like abortion and contraception are irrelevant as they could hop on a private jet to the Cayman Islands.

3. Could be seen another way.....

They aren't going to give the healthcare for free. So you are going to be charged for new customers.

5. Most insurance plans offer 3 levels

Single
Married
Family

The family plan does not indicate how many children you have. The couple who have 10 kids get an insurance bargain compared to those who have 2. (Not that I would want to feed 10 8 more mouths).

The insurance company is covering those extra 8 at the same rate as they do the first 2.

I would think it would be an accounting decision to increase the greed.

9. Many insurance companies offer only single and family rates-

effectively screwing those of us who do not have kids. AND-many of the over-procreators are the same hypocrites that cry about welfare. Hey guess what?? I am paying for your kids' insurance. They are being subsidized.

6. And we are always hearing how expensive maternity and prenatal care are,

and childbirth itself.

I figure the 1% (who run insurance companies among other things and make these decisions) are really worried about running out of cannon fodder for their military-industrial complex if all women actually get control over their childbearing.

12. Best they be born into poverty and unwanted. More likely to join up

voluntarily. How many foster kids or runaways opt for college rather than the military?? Not many.

8. Reason?

It's a wedge issue, and it changes the discussion from economic inequality to something else. TPTB absolutely hate anybody in the 99% becoming aware of how they're being screwed by the 1%

13. IMO it's all RACISM

concern about keeping the white birth rate up and not being out numbered by "dark skinned" people.

I said "concern" it's more like freaked out and scared shitless, they make me want to
