Girl, 4, accidentally shot after gun left on chairKANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
A gun carelessly left out in a Kansas City home led to the accidental shooting of a 4-year-old girl. The child is fighting for her life in an area hospital. A father left his house today and forgot his loaded gun in the living room, according to police. His wife didn't know the gun was out and within easy reach for small children. Police said it appears another child in the house was playing with the loaded gun when it went off and now don't believe the little girl accidentally shot herself in the head >SNIP< http://www.kctv5.com/story/20555073/child-playing-with-gun-accidentally-shoots-self It has since been determined that another child had the gun when it went off and shot the 4 year old girl in the head.

1. Stories like this make me literally sick to my stomach.
|
I hope charges are filed against the person who left the loaded gun where children could access it. This is unexcusable.

3. Not me - until parents realize that their stupid views on guns
|
are more threatening to their own families than is the threat of a tyrannical government, then horrible shootings like this one will continue.
How can people who couldn't follow a basic syllabus at any level of any school walk into a store or wherever and purchase a gun. Human beings are usually forced to be responsible because of financial penalties for wrong doing. |

4. I can remember talking to my parents about guns 30, 35 years ago.
|
Their opinion was that anyone who kept a gun in their home was an idiot, especially if they had children.
I've seen no evidence yet to convince me that my parents were wrong. |
