Obama Releases Preview Of State Of The Union Address (VIDEO)

President Barack Obama has sent out a preview of his State of The Union address set to take place Tuesday night through his campaign. He described the “central focus” of his Presidency as rebuilding the economy, saying this is a “make or break moment for the middle class,” and that he’s fighting for an economic structure based on fairness.

2. Kick & Rec'd!

I can't help it, but this man inspires me and gives me hope this country is heading in the right direction.

Of course, I was really on his side when I heard an author guest on CurrentTV say that President Obama was disrespected by the brass in the Pentagon, but when he fired General McChrystal, he immediately gained the upperhand and respect in the Pentagon.

I really believe President Obama is going to be a different president in his second term. He's going to bring this country back in ways we can't yet see. I wish there weren't any term limits on the presidency, but since we do I hope he will be the one to pick his successor - and although I love Joe, I hope it ain't him.

4. You may wish, but not with this congress.

President O is probably a shoo in for a second term but if Democrats don't control both houses of Congress decisively we will have the same obstructionist, filibustering, gridlock. Sorry to rain on the parade.

5. At least you recognize where the real problem lies.

He's exceeded expectations given the shitstorm that comes from multiple angles.

9. Wait, correct my history here...

but didn't Obama have majorities in both the senate and the house of reps to start the term off? Somehow he failed to live up to the American public's wishes reflected in those majorities, and became a totally different President after the campaigning was over. He was supposed to be different than war-criminal, "Patriot Act"-loving Bush. But no, he hasn't been. He's just a nicer smile and a better speaker. The NDAA, for example, how can you possibly sign such a heinous bill, Mr Obama, when you are a constitutional scholar? No citizen should ever be threatened with disappearing into a black hole without access to a lawyer, at the whim of the government and military...but that's just what the bill does, and Obama signed it, with great support from congress (93-7). Sorry, I'll stop with facts. Let's all put on our blue and get out the vote!

We aint in Kansas anymore.

Wake up.

10. 93 - 7 would override any veto and the President knew it.

I'm not happy with the policies you refer to, but this obstructionist congress has repeatedly forced the President into a corner. Also, as any rational person would do, for the first year and a half of his term he tried to be "reasonable" and negotiate. Unfortunately everything he put forth was filibustered by McConnell. I'm sure if he had a filibuster-proof majority in congress he would not have supported NDAA. As it stands I'm sure he's waiting for the Supremes to overturn it. Or, even better, given the majority he needs in congress he will submit legislation to overturn it.
