Petraeus Testimony on Benghazi Reveals Conspiracy to Catch Terrorists

By Dan Amira at New York Magazine

"SNIP................................................

Then why alter the talking points at all? AP still:

The recently resigned spy chief explained that references to terrorist groups suspected of carrying out the violence were removed from the public explanation of what caused the attack so as not to tip off the groups that the U.S. intelligence community was on their trail. ...

"There was an interagency process to draft it, not a political process," Schiff said. "They came up with the best assessment without compromising classified information or source or methods. So changes were made to protect classified information."

So there was a conspiracy ... to catch the terrorists. According to Huffington Post, John McCain, "who also attended the Petraeus briefing, said nothing in his remarks afterward about Rice or his demand for an investigation by a new select panel."

...............................................SNIP"

2. Benghazi never would have happened under McCain

because he would have recalled all diplomats and bombed every country in the world
or maybe just the brown, black, red, yellow countries

3. I thought this from the first but the RWNJ just want blood.

It would not make any sense to tell everything known and where we was working, just jump in and blow it all.

7. I'm surprised they're still harping on it.

Still, there is some satisfaction that more and more people are defending Susan Rice now.

8. The President referred to terrorism the next day, promising that those responsible would pay.

The administration should have left it at that, referring all questions back to the President's statement.

Local police routinely refuse to comment on an ongoing investigation. There is nothing wrong or unusual about that.

13. More Of The "Great Minds" Variety

Although it seems like it should have been fairly obvious. But with the distractions of a campaign things sometimes get missed.

Also, it's fairly likely that I made the comment on Thinkprogress or another site since I didn't see it in scrolling back through my earlier posts here.

9. This was so obvious from the beginning that I am embarrassed

for the Republicans like John McCain and Fox News.

If they had half a brain . . . oh, they don't.

Haven't they ever watched spy or police movies in which a fugitive is hunted down and the hunter goes incognito and the crime or spying is never mentioned to the public so that the spy or fugitive can be caught? This is a common plot.

What idiots.

12. Even when half of a person's brain is removed.....

the other half can compensate. In McCain, Fox News, and the GOP's case, it's more like a frontal lobotomy.
