An easy way to end voter purges

Simply stop partisan registrations, if they don't know your party affiliation they won't try to purge you....register everyone a either independent or neutral.

1. If a corrupt government is hellbent on purging likely Democratic voters

they will purge on the basis of demographics - and home address is the easiest way for them to target people for purging.

4. Maybe true

But with a definite label makes it a lot easier to be sure to not purge their own.... Maybe not the final solution but is a step in the right direction...Add in a real checks and balances to the system would also help. I don't have all the answers to this problem but it needs to be addressed and starting with this can't hurt.

2. most of the purges are demographic based

So party registration doesn't matter. They go after groups most likely to vote Democratic, accepting the loss of a few of theirs for many more of ours.

3. Won't solve the problem.

They purge according to whether voters live in heavily Dem areas, not just according to how they are registered.

That's also how they decide whether to provide too few voting machines in certain areas, and also to give the old broken down machines to certain areas.

Sure, they risk losing some R votes that way, but they purge so many D votes that they come out way ahead anyway.

5. They target demographics too.

A lot of it is handled geographically. College areas. Poor areas. Non-white areas. Thus all the gerrymandering as well.
