5. It is several miles from here

So I am more than safe. Posted it in the off chance any DU'ers are near.

But if we have an explosion (hope not, should not) well, will go there as press.

It is out of our area of coverage. About a mile from the 15 or so.

12. Good nooz, not bad infrastructure, bad contractor

Yes, we have been having so many issues with aging infrastructure that was my concern.

6. Why is this in GD?

I don't live in SD, so every tiny thing that happens there isn't earth-shattering.
And if I did live there, I would come to DU to find out what's up?

10. Major streets are

South 94, West 54th and North College Grove. A school is very near by. Have not heard school being evacuated, so that is good news.

It is near Chollas Park.

13. Thanks.

Will go east to Grossmont instead of west to College Grove for my Thanksgiving shopping today. No sense adding to the congestion in the area.

15. An older, run-down neighborhood, and a couple trailer parks in the area :(

That area of town has a lot of North/East African immigrants and elderly working class that had been built up in the 1930's/1940's - lots of wood and stucco structures. It's also a spiderweb of narrow, winding streets through the ridges and arroyos at the edge of the mesa that is that area of the college area and Lemon Grove. It will be very confusing to evacuate or manage an emergency if there's a serious issue.

Our house is only three miles away, other side of I-94 by the 805. Clear if there is an issue, but we'd still experience any explosion. Luckily, we have newer double-pane windows if there is an explosion.
When I was 11 years old, during the bad old early 70's student radical movement, someone bombed the UW administration building that was just about the same distance and every window on that side of the student housing unit we were living was either blown in or seriously cracked - including my bedroom window.

16. Yup, why to a point I am monitoring the scanner.

Though already made sure I got my gear ready to go...

Traffic is now minimal, so I s'pose SDG&E must be getting a handle on this.

18. Ok, phew, they are starting to release units from incident

This means it's been secured. And then it goes over the air.

Years of doing this shit pay off...

Ah now I can do some writing.

22. We know what caused the leak

Bad contractor, no cookie for you!!!!

No serious...

My original concern was our severely aging infrastructure. I am waiting for the next section of pipe to fail in the Midway district, for example. But in this case, a contractor.

28. we can talk about stuffing!

How do you tell your MIL that not only are you cooking the turkey, like you did last year. But also, she can't have any juices halfway through or anything else from the bird for her nasty stuffing creation?

You've got the stuffing covered as well
