Was the Petraeus affair the scandal that Drudge was crowing about two weeks ago?

Then it disappeared into nothingness???

I think that they can down on the side and thought of not dealing with anything CIA related.

1. Crossed my mind too.

The timing is also about right in terms of the "whistle blower" talking exclusively to GOP... Also, Bob Woodward was probably referring to the same piece of "intelligence" as related to him when he was on FOX and said he did not want to touch it...

3. Petraeus was a potential GOP candidate and Cantor could be the VP choice if Petraeus knew Cantor

could blackmail his way into the position.

4. Except that in the long term

a public figure having a mistress does not stay secret forever.

Even if the specific events that led to Petraeus's recent resignation had not happened, at some point over the next four years his affair would have become known to the general public.

7. And the right would say that if Bill Clinton can have an affair and it's ok with

the left that the right is ok with it too. I think privacy is important but the CIA is a different situation. Blackmail is something we don't need when it comes to military secrets.

5. I think it was cover....

The mistress story is a far better way to exit than the truth coming out about how Petraeus got butt fucked in Libya. The more that comes out, the more of a CIA fiasco it seems to be.

8. The Benghazi operation was to collect arms and fighters in Libya and ship them to Syria

By overrunning the CIA safe house, the Salafists obtained information and rolled up the CIA network in Libya.

It is probable that a lot of "consultants" and "contractors" were liquidated.

9. It was a national security issue so nobody could report it perhaps.
