Would Romney the draft dodger hesitate to send someone else's son or daughter to die in Iran?

Mitt Romney avoided the military by seeking/receiving four draft deferments

by Dee Dee Garcia Blase on Jun. 05, 2012,

Did you know that Mitt Romney dodged the military? Romney avoided military service at the height of the fighting after high school by seeking and receiving four draft deferments according to Selective service records. Romney was of age to fight for our Country, but sought deferments instead. As a veteran of the United States Air Force, and as a female of the Armed Services, I will not vote for Mitt Romney. How can a man who “claims” to love our Country seek deferments in order to fight for her?

Though an early supporter of the Vietnam War, Romney avoided military service at the height of the fighting after high school by seeking and receiving four draft deferments, according to Selective Service records. They included college deferments and a 31-month stretch as a “minister of religion” in France, a classification for Mormon missionaries that the church at the time feared was being overused. The country was cutting troop levels by the time he became eligible for the draft, and his lottery number was not called.

sending 4000 soldiers to Iraq to die, for Nothing!

I'd be all for it.

No such luck, I'm sure. So I tell myself that sooner or later, karma's gonna get them. The only way to maintain some semblance of sanity in the face of evil.

28. all we have to do is look at the former chickenhawk sociopaths

as long as they have no skin in the game and can still make themselves and their corporate friends big bucks, they'd sell out every american (except their family members) in a heart beat. Oh, some probably would also sell out their family members. As one of my favorite guys who truly make me heave once said, our soldiers are cannon fodder. We, as plebes, are nothing but to be used and exploited for their interest and gain. Our lives and our money (what little is left, because god forbid if the wealthy actually sacrifice during war), are tributes for our dark overlords. "Long live caesar!!!!!"

If Robbedme wants to go to war let us all send him to fight his own damned conflict. He most certainly won't start one then!

no one in his entire family has ever served in the military, and it isn't because they are pacifists.

Pretty self serving and hypocritical if you ask me.

Even protests in favor of the war he is dodging?

Don't see that as a bad thing?

29. well being a draft dodger is not a bad thing when you have beliefs against killing other people

like the quakers or you believe the war is unjustified and corrupt. But being one who loves war or benefits from it and refuses to participate, is nothing but a damn chickenhawk.

13. wasn't only mitt- not one of his ancestors has served in the military

I posted about this a few days ago.

Pretty astounding fact. In all of his ancestors on both his mothers and fathers side, not one served.

And his five sons have all chosen not to serve either. But according to Mitt, they've chosen to serve the country in another way- by getting their father elected.

he was asked about his sons military service in 2008, just before he dropped out of the race..... his response was no, but they are working for this campaign.. he equated his campaign as the same thing as serving in the military..

and folks wonder why he just don't get it!!

How can Americans even pretend to think he really supports these military actions when his children sit at home. No American should go unless at least 1 of his 5 sons is among them!

32. Mitt's father was also a draft dodger

In 1939, at the age of 32, he evidently convinced someone that he was more important to the war effort as an automotive executive than as a soldier. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
