Pointing out the co-relation of freedom and voting rights

I was thinking about the issue of voting rights, and started wondering...with Republicans and RW libertarians always talking about freedom and liberty, why isn't the Left nailing them down on their hypocrisy on this issue? The Right is always talking about those things when it comes to things such as guns, paying less taxes, and so-called "religious freedom", but they obviously don't apply on other issues. And whenever I hear Democrats discuss the voting issue, they mainly just talk about the equality and fairness aspects of it, but I believe that there is also an argument to be made in terms of freedom. By gutting the Voting Rights Act and passing numerous ID laws, conservatives are making it more difficult for Americans to exercise our Constitutional rights and basic freedoms.
What do you think?

SuddenLink or AT&T?

Late next month, I will be moving to Arcata, CA., and I heard that these are the two cable/Internet providers in the area. I looked up reviews for both online, and many say that the customer service of both companies is bad, and that AT&T's connection frequently acts up.
Out of these, which one would you recommend?

xPost-- Don't stop there: 9 other things we should have boycotted a while ago

Link: http://bossip.com/807280/other-people-and-places-we-should-boycott39204/

People are calling for a boycott of Florida and other states with Stand Your Ground laws and itís about damn time. Itís time our stars and regular people put their money where they beliefs are. Florida is a good start, but letís boycott these other entities:

Fox News - We basically donít watch Fox News anyway, but itís seriously about time we hit them with a boycott to make it official.

Disney World - Hereís why: Disney World controls Florida. If we boycott Disney World they could press Florida to repeal ďStand Your Ground.Ē

The NRA - They pushed the ďStand Your GroundĒ law, so itís time to show them weíre serious. Cancel memberships and cost them money.

Abercrombie And Fitch - They donít want Black people working the front of the store. Itís time to boycott their racism.

Cristal - They said they didnít want Black people buying their stuff. Well, donít worry weíre good.

Madea - SOME people think we should boycott Madea movies because they set us back. What say you?

Bleaching Covers - All these magazines that bleach the Black womensí skin on the covers should abandon these practices.

College Sports - They exploit young athletes Ė mostly Black Ė and punish them if they get any perks. They should get boycotted until these athletes are allowed to get paid.

Why does the MSNBC show "The Cycle" get a bad rap?

I see DUers saying essentially that it is a sub-par show, but I sometimes watch it and don't have a problem with it. Krystal Ball seems pretty knowledgeable, and I like Toure. I also understand that many DUers aren't too crazy about S.E. Cupp, but I find her tolerable compared to the rest of her RW brethren. While I rarely agree with her on anything except for her supporting gay rights, I will say that at least she doesn't interrupt people who she disagrees with for the most part, like Hannity and O'Reilly. Plus she is the only conservative co-host of the show, which means that she is outnumbered and is generally refuted on whatever falsities she may give.

Just enter the name of the musical artist you're listening to, and see what you should drink to that person's songs.

The cities that drink the most soda

Link: http://www.menshealth.com/best-life/cities-most-soda

On March 11, a judge blocked the Big Apple's proposed ban on sales of supersized soda. Even if the city's appeal fails, Mayor Bloomberg can take this stat as consolation: Only 13 cities have less of a problem with pop than NYC does, according to data we gathered on soda consumption and its consequences. If any town needs a soda cap, it's last-place Laredo, though that may be a tougher sell. "Texans tend to oppose government limits on what they can buy and consume," says Tracey Ledoux, Ph.D., R.D., an assistant professor at the University of Houston's Texas Obesity Research Center.

REPORT: Swept up in "scandal", network Sunday shows drop coverage of economy

More: http://mediamatters.org/research/2013/06/10/report-swept-up-in-scandal-network-sunday-shows/194402

In recent weeks, Sunday morning network news programs have virtually ignored economic issues, instead devoting hours of coverage to the September attacks on U.S. diplomatic facilities in Benghazi, Libya; improper targeting of conservative nonprofits by the Internal Revenue Service; controversial federal investigations of national security leaks; and new revelations about National Security Agency surveillance programs.

Large Majority Support Discussion of Jobs, Economy

Americans Prioritize Economy Three-To-One. According to a report by Quinnipiac University, 73 percent of Americans would prefer Congress to focus on economic growth and unemployment compared to 22 percent who prefer further investigations into the IRS, Department of Justice and the 2012 attack in Benghazi, Libya.
