Catholic Question

It is my understanding that their god demanded that they go out and multiply.

How come the pope, cardinals, bishops, priests are exempt from this demand??
Or was their god just talking about learning the new math??

"Religion is the opium of the people"

"Religion is the opium of the people" is one of the most frequently paraphrased statements of Karl Marx. It was translated from the German original, "Die Religion ... ist das Opium des Volkes" and is often referred to as "religion is the opiate of the masses." The quotation originates from the introduction of his 1843 work Contribution to Critique of Hegel's Philosophy of Right which was subsequently released one year later in Marx's own journal Deutsch-Französische Jahrbücher, a collaboration with Arnold Ruge. The phrase "This opium you feed your people" appeared in 1797 in Marquis de Sade's text L'Histoire de Juliette and Novalis's "eligion acts merely as an opiate" around the same time.

Republicans are so against Marx and socialism and then at the same time they embrace religion with all their heart.

It is hard to truely understand the hypocracy of the right...........

Santorum says get rid of books

It would seem to me that during this campaign season that Rick Santorum sees no need for any new books. After listening to him it seems that everything that we need to know is contained in a book that was complied about 1800 years ago.

He sees no use for college unless you are part of the republican elite and then you only need good republican colleges. Women need to toe the line and not get uppity. The good book says it all.

My question to Ricky woud be why the hell would we need your book that you wrote if everything that we need is already contained in the Bible?? Was it just to try to make some money and try to tell everyone you wrote it and then when there might be some questional parts then you tell everyone that your wife wrote that part. But you never gave her credit until people asked.

Sounds to me that you stole from her.

There is a lot of talk in this forum about god

Whether he/she exists, number of gods, etc.

To know whether a god exists I would think that one first has to define what a god is.
I have never seen that spelled out here.

How can one have a discussion about god if you do not know the definition??

So let's get a definite definition

Cat Saves Owner's Life Just Hours After Being Adopted

Amy Jung and her son Ethan stopped into The Humane Society near their home in Sturgeon, Wisconsin on Feb. 8 to play with the cats, but one feline -- a 21-pound orange-and-white cat named Pudding -- stood out to the pair. Jung learned that the laid-back cat had been in and out of the shelter since 2003, and made an impulsive decision to adopt him and his friend Wimsy.

Jung said the cats wasted no time fitting into their new home when they arrived. But just hours later, the Jungs' happy day took a turn for the worse. Soon after going to bed, Amy Jung, who has had diabetes since childhood, started having a diabetic seizure in her sleep.

That's when Pudding sprang into action. The fast-acting feline sat on Jung's chest in an attempt to wake her up and when that didn't work, he nudged and nipped her face until she briefly returned to consciousness.

In that moment, Jung was able to call out to her son Ethan, but he couldn't hear her calls. Luckily, Pudding darted into Ethan's room and pounced on the bed until he woke up and was able to call for help.
