Banned Marijuana: Because the Department of Prohibition boss needed SOMETHING to do - that is all.

In 1929, a man called Harry Anslinger was put in charge of the Department of Prohibition in Washington, D.C. But alcohol prohibition had been a disaster. Gangsters had taken over whole neighborhoods. Alcohol -- controlled by criminals -- had become even more poisonous.

So alcohol prohibition finally ended -- and Harry Anslinger was afraid. He found himself in charge of a huge government department, with nothing for it to do. Up until then, he had said that cannabis was not a problem. It doesn't harm people, he explained, and "there is no more absurd fallacy" than the idea it makes people violent.

But then -- suddenly, when his department needed a new purpose -- he announced he had changed his mind.

He explained to the public what would happen if you smoked cannabis.

First, you will fall into "a delirious rage." Then you will be gripped by "dreams... of an erotic character." Then you will "lose the power of connected thought." Finally, you will reach the inevitable end-point: "Insanity."

Marijuana turns man into a "wild beast." If marijuana bumped into Frankenstein's monster on the stairs, Anslinger warned, the monster would drop dead of fright.

Racist Trump's support among conservatives proves that right-wing "faith" is simply a marketing tool

Racist Trump's distant lead in the polls and his strong support among conservatives proves that right-wing "faith" is simply a marketing tool.
vkkv, Jan 27th 2016.

Trump's "yuge!" lead in the polls is a reflection of modern Republican values: hate, fear, white supremacy and money-first. Trump's endorsement by evangelical leader Jerry Falwell Jr proves that hate, fear and racism all trump faith and God and everything good and fetuses and the poor.

If so-called "religious conservatives" were truly a political force then 'pro-choice' Trump would be trailing Cruz, Rubio, Huck and Fiorina. But religious conservatives are NOT a force, in fact polls indicate that the values of hate, fear and racism far OUT-WEIGH the 'religious' values of tolerance, peace, acceptance, sharing, quiet dignity as valued by actual spiritual people.

The fact that polls reflect that so few supposed anti-choice religious nut-cases find Trump "unacceptable" (see second article excerpt) clearly proves what a slim minority of Republicans actually care about unborn fetuses. Christian faith is now taking a distant back seat to Hate, Fear and Racism among Republican voters.

That's my take and I'm sticking to it!

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is viewed as the least religious presidential candidate, edging out Democratic contenders Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders as having the lowest perceived faith devotion, according to a new poll from the Pew Research Center.

Trump has certainly had some notable slip-ups while discussing and addressing religion on the campaign trail, but that hasn’t stopped him from defying the odds by successfully courting many religious Americans; this research only adds to the intrigue surrounding that dynamic.

One of the conundrums that has astounded political observers is Trump’s strong standing among evangelicals, as he has attracted support from people like Pastor Robert Jeffress of First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, and even received an endorsement this week from Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr., among others.

From: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2016/01/27/pro-life-leaders-send-urgent-request-to-iowa-caucusgoers-about-donald-trump/

A coalition of pro-life leaders are urging Iowans to support “anyone but Trump” in the upcoming caucus.

The female pro-life leaders of both Iowa-based and national pro-life organizations sent a letter to Iowans Tuesday to tell them that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is an “unacceptable” option for president due to his ambivalence about their cause and comments he has made that “impugned the dignity of women.”

Trump has recently faced scrutiny from pro-life activists for his claim that he no longer supports abortion.

During a 1999 interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Trump called himself “pro-choice in every respect” and said that a President Trump would not work to implement a ban on partial-birth abortion.

So Disappointed in Hillary Becoming a Mouth-Piece for GOP Talking Points!

And sending Chelsea out to do her LYING for her?

That is what I call DISGUSTING MADem and Cha !

If I hadn't been BOOTED OFF the HILLARY GROUP earlier - I'd BE PROUD TO BE KICKED OFF THAT INTOLERANT GROUP of Quasi-Republicans NOW!!

re: Poll - honesty only, NOT the 'Hillary / GOP' kind of honesty.

Who would pick the BEST Supreme Court Justices? Bernie Or Hill ?

Come on now, be honest!

15 Arguments Against Libertarianism. Sounds like "freedom", and it is sort of

"Libertarianism" sounds good, sounds like 'freedom'. And it is sort of:

* Freedom for corporations to buy up competing businesses and monopolize control of a single market.

* Freedom for corporations to bilk you with no legal remedies for you.

* Freedom for corporations to buy up and privatize beach front land - sorry, um, what's a surfboard?

* Freedom for corporations to build enormous hotels in the middle of a high elevation, pristine national park meadow.

* Freedom for sub-corporations to pollute your rivers, lakes and public water with toxins, go bankrupt, leave the mess to you while the umbrella corporation reaps all the profits. Oh wait, this is already happening, too, thanks to the G.O.P.

* Freedom for corporations to track your every online movement, it's for the good of business and the economy of course. (see Ebay and Facebook).

* Freedom for your crazy neighbor to own as many firearms as he wants - ah, but you get to shoot him with your AR-15 after he's already killed your kids, yay, revenge is so sweet!

* Freedom for doctors not to treat an emergency patient because they don't have the right insurance, or enough, or no cash, no credit card, no house to seize.

* Freedom to sue the person who has no auto insurance and no money who hits your car because your insurance no longer offers "uninsured motorist coverage" because under a libertarian government no one is legally required to buy liability insurance - yay!

* No EPA to slowdown the installation of a furnace to burn all of your garbage when someone else's house is downwind. This is especially great news for the hazardous waste creators like chemical factories, forges, tire dumps and hospitals.

* No messing with any unions!

* "Stand your ground" will the be the law of the land. But, most of the land will be owned by mega-corporations.

* No maternity leave pay!

* Privatized courts will always let you win as long as you're supplying the payroll.

* Privatized police forces will keep you safe from the other privatized police forces. You need "protection", right?

ObamaCare is going to be the fatal blow to the GOP that will take a beating for 10 or 15 years.

The GOP is just about toast.

Covered California numbers are out and shown as a success, much like in Mass. The GOP will be seen as the LIARS that they are by voters.

The GOP will then in 2016's election bids spout about how ObamaCare is actually ROMNEY Care and that Republicans were only fighting about additional spending or trying to "make it less government run" - which it is not, only more lies.

The Republican-lead House has now voted more than 50 times to repeal it... hard to defend those votes as a mistake. Citizens in GOP lead states that have no ACA health insurance exchanges are now taking a closer look at just how good of a job their Congressmen are doing... POORLY is the answer.

ObamaCare is going to be the fatal blow to the GOP that will take a beating for 10 or 15 years.

It's a NO WIN situation for the GOP. To paraphrase Grover Norquist: it won't be long before the GOP "is shrunk down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub."
