Licensed Gun Nut stands his ground against a 14-year-old girl's chihuahua and kills it.

Well I guess he was a law-abiding and responsible gun owner....until he wasn't? Or maybe he was just standing his ground?

Either way I'm sure the NRA will call for more guns and licensed "law-abiding" gun owners so that America can be a safer place.

14-year-old Detroit girl says that a neighbor shot and killed JoJo, her 1-year-old Chihuahua, because he wasn’t on a leash and was making too much noise.

The licensed gun owner, however, told police that he gunned down the tiny dog because it was threatening him.

The girl, who WJBK declined to identify, said that she had gone inside for a few minutes while JoJo ran free in the yard. When she came back outside, the neighbor warned her to take the dog back in the house.

“When he saw my dog running out of the bushes, , ‘I’m going to handle him myself,’ and then I guess my dog had run back up on him again, and he just shot him,” the teen recalled as she cradled the dead dog in a blanket.

Fox News Ratings Plunge To New Lows...MSNBC Gloats In Press Release

Fox News Ratings: Hannity, Van Susteren Plunge To New Lows In Demo

Posted: 04/02/2013 5:24 pm EDT

The cable news industry was hit with another month of tough ratings news.

Every network saw its ratings drop from 2012, a politics-heavy election year that was guaranteed to spike audiences. In primetime, Fox News suffered the biggest plunge, falling 33 percent from its 2012 numbers. CNN fell a nearly equally precipitous 28 percent, while MSNBC dropped 4 percent.

Fox News, which has had several well-publicized ratings issues over the past few months, saw its primetime numbers fall to new lows in the all-important A25-54 category for many shows. MSNBC gloated in its press release, saying that hosts Sean Hannity and Greta Van Susteren had their worst demo ratings ever. Bill O'Reilly's demo ratings were also off by 26 percent.

<...>

MSNBC topped CNN in total viewers and demo viewers, and saw a 30 percent increase in daytime viewers in the A25-54 demo.

Adam Lanza, Newtown Gunman, Had An Arsenal Of Weapons, Gun Safe, Swords, Search Warrants Reveal

The massacre of 20 children and six educators took less than 5 minutes according to investigators:

NEWTOWN, Conn. — When Adam Lanza walked out of his house for the last time, he left behind firearms and knives and more than 1,600 rounds of ammunition – taking only four guns. They would suffice.

He loaded the weapons into his car, drove to Sandy Hook Elementary School, blasted his way into the building and within five minutes fired off 154 shots with a Bushmaster .223-caliber rifle. Having murdered 20 first-graders and six educators, he killed himself with a final, single shot from a Glock handgun. He still had more than 100 rifle bullets at hand.

Warrants released Thursday provide the most insight to date into the world of the 20-year-old gunman, a recluse who played violent video games in a house packed with weaponry that was all too real. The inventory of items taken from the spacious, colonial-style home included books on autism, a vast array of weapon paraphernalia, and images of what appears to be a dead person covered with plastic and blood.

The weapons used in the shooting had all apparently been purchased by Lanza's mother, Nancy, with whom he lived, said prosecutor Stephen J. Sedensky III, in a statement accompanying the warrants.

Maher: Palin is an illiterate forest creature and Romney is a robotic tax cheat from a polygamy cult

Bill Maher Takes Credit For Defining Romney As A ‘Cold, Robotic Tax Cheat From A Polygamy Cult’
by Matt Wilstein | 4:26 pm, January 16th, 2013

Bill Maher must be itching to get back on TV when Real Time starts up its new season this Friday on HBO, based on his appearance last night on E!’s Chelsea Lately.

<...>

After describing Sarah Palin as “the illiterate forest creature who served half a term as the governor of a state with no people and is now the queen of brain farts,” Maher explained that “after the election she said Romney lost because he was defined in the swing states early.”

And he said it was his money that helped make that happen. “People did not change their minds much after February, March, April. That’s when those ads went on and we had to define Romney as what he was: a cold, robotic tax cheat from a polygamy cult.”

Taibbi: Romney winning would be like waking up with a naked Lloyd Blankfein sitting on your face

How the Hype Became Bigger Than the Presidential Election
Blame the media for making whole generations hate The Process

By Matt Taibbi
October 9, 2012 3:20 PM ET

Well, it's over. Or almost over, thank God. It looks like Obama will probably win, which I guess is good news, compared to the alternative – a Mitt Romney presidency would have felt like four straight years of waking up with a naked Lloyd Blankfein sitting on your face. But it's not so much the result that matters – it's the quiet.

What we Americans go through to pick a president is not only crazy and unnecessary but genuinely abusive. Hundreds of millions of dollars are spent in a craven, cynical effort to stir up hatred and anger on both sides. A decision that in reality takes one or two days of careful research to make is somehow stretched out into a process that involves two years of relentless, suffocating mind-warfare, an onslaught of toxic media messaging directed at liberals, conservatives and everyone in between that by Election Day makes every dinner conversation dangerous and literally divides families.

Politicians are much to blame for this, but we in the media have to take responsibility for the damage we do to the American psyche in the name of election coverage. At this very moment, there are people all over the country who are stocking up on canned goods and ammo for the apocalypse they believe will come if Obama is re-elected. For the broadcast business to be successful, viewers need to be not merely interested in our political melodramas, they have to be in an absolute state about them – emotionally invested in the outcome and frightened not to watch what happens next. And any person who's been subjected to 720 consecutive days of propaganda is not likely to take the news well if he gets the wrong result, whether it's a victory for Obama or for Romney. By that point, the networks have spent two years finding new ways each day to convince him that the world is going to disintegrate into some commie or Hitlerian version of Mad Max, to keep him coming back and watching ads.

By ALEXANDER BURNS |
7/26/12 3:16 PM EDT

And now the mayor of London is joining the fun:

Speaking in front of 60,000 assembled in Hyde Park at a concert to mark the end of the Olympic Torch relay, the London Mayor reaffirmed the city's zeal for the historic event.

'There are some people coming from around the world who don't yet know if we are ready,' the Mr Johnson roared.

'There's a guy called Mitt Romney who wants to know whether we are ready. Are we ready? Yes we are!'

Arizona Goes Birther: Secretary Of State Says It’s ‘Possible’ Obama Won’t Be On Ballot

Arizona Goes Birther: Secretary Of State Says It’s ‘Possible’ Obama Won’t Be On Ballot

Nick R. Martin May 18, 2012, 10:53 AM

The man in charge of running Arizona’s elections has gone to the birthers. Secretary of State Ken Bennett now says he’s not convinced Barack Obama was really born in the United States and so he is threatening to keep the president off the ballot in November.

Bennett’s comments came in an interview late Thursday with conservative radio talk show host Mike Broomhead on Phoenix station KFYI.

Bennett said he was following the lead of the state’s eccentric Sheriff Joe Arpaio, a fellow Republican who ordered an investigation into the president’s birth certificate last year and concluded the document released by the White House is a forgery. Bennett said he is now trying to get verification from state officials in Hawaii that the certificate is authentic.

In doing so, Bennett caved to a fringe group of activists and writers who believe in a conspiracy theory that just never seems to die no matter how much proof they get. Hawaiian officials have said time and again that Obama was born there in 1961, yet the theory persists.

Meet George Zimmerman: He Is the NRA

Daniel Gross
03/22/2012 3:10 pm

<...>

The shooting of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman is a heartbreaking tragedy. But make no mistake, it is not a surprise that it happened in Florida, the NRA's closest thing to an armed utopia. In fact, much more so than any of the shills they had promoting their agenda in their big budget propaganda campaign, George Zimmerman is the embodiment of the gun lobby and its vision for America.

George Zimmerman is the NRA.

And now the NRA has made it abundantly clear that their vision is of an America that looks just like Florida, a nation where it's easy for criminals and dangerous people to get, carry and use guns -- a nation without any gun laws, where just about anybody can get a gun and use it anywhere. Their spokespeople use fear, bordering on paranoia to justify flooding our streets with armed and violent people, and the result is more tragedies like Trayvon Martin's.

The NRA is literally working to promote "George Zimmermans" to carry and use their guns in virtually every state across our nation.

Just days after the Trayvon Martin tragedy, the NRA was working on Capitol Hill to nationalize Florida's vigilante mentality. The gun lobby has gotten U.S. senators to introduce a bill that will force states like New York with strong gun laws to follow Florida's model of arming criminals and killers. Led by Sen. Mark Begich (D-Alaska), they call S.B. 2188, the National Reciprocity Act.

We call it the George Zimmerman Armed Vigilante Act.
