Election Movie Marathon!

From Brian McFadden

A disappointing 2-4 to keep post

http://www.democraticunderground.com/10021668231

Anyone have the original jury results?

IMO: This is a troll trying to be more extreme than any lefty. While I hate Romney and the GOP's guts and want them to lose, I'd never call them subhuman. Dehumanizing your enemies is what leads to things like the Holocaust and Rwanda. This isn't Free Republic and we don't need to act like this here.

So, Mitt is running a canned food drive. Is he running for President of the PTA?

That's the meme of the day. Repeat often.

Attn: News Media.

It is now time to end the practice of reporters standing in flooded streets or in the surf during major storms. It is difficult to hear them clearly due to wind and rain. It is also dangerous and prompts other idiots to follow suit. None of you will be the next Dan Rather. None of you. Especially you, Anderson Cooper, who doesn't seem to have enough common sense to put his hood up. Thank you.

My storm is worse than yours

Just kidding. Attached is a reading list of great disasters:

The Johnstown Flood by David McCullough
Isaac's Storm: A Man, a Time, and the Deadliest Hurricane in History by Erik Larson
Blizzard!: The Storm That Changed America‎. by Jim Murphy
The Great Influenza: The Epic Story of the Deadliest Plague in History by John M. Barry

Please rec some more.

An alerter accusses a poster of being....judgmental!

At Thu Oct 25, 2012, 01:00 PM an alert was sent on the following post:

Powell endorse nothing to brag about.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251175004

REASON FOR ALERT:

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate. (See Community Standards.)

ALERTER'S COMMENTS:

Judgmental & eventually hurts the DNC

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Thu Oct 25, 2012, 01:07 PM, and the Jury voted 0-6 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: This is a perfectly acceptable opinion to have. Powell did do what the poster is alleging. Not really sure what the alerter means "Judgmental and eventually hurts the DNC"... this doesn't violate community standards and strikes me as an over-sensitive alert attempting to portray a contrary opinion as trollish.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Oh noes! A poster is being judgmental? Way to waste everyone's time, alerter.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Yes, it is judgmental - we all speak our own truth. I don't think it will harm us to hear these opinions.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Dear alerted, you are wasting our damn time! And need to read the post again! Jesus, alerts like yours need to be publicized! Waste of time!

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

Zingers

From Jen Sorensen's "Slowpoke"

I sunk your Battleship!

From Rob Rogers of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette:

Is it just me or was Romney's main zinger really lame.

Romney's "We Can't Kill Our Way Out Of This Mess" was a prepared zinger to claim that killing bin Laden didn't really matter.

Completely failed, imo.

On election night when the ballots are counted and Romney has lost, we are going to see

the mother of all meltdowns from Queen Anne and Bishop Mitt. There is no way in hell those two or their creepy kids will be able to be gracious in defeat. Stock up on popcorn now.
