And if you go to the link you can sign the petition. But this is the first time I am hearing of this. Admittedly I don't follow all the bills passed and what is in them but this is big. If the average person knew how much the CEO'S were skimming off of the top of the till they would be up in arms. I think they just don't know.
"I urge you to promptly issue a rule requiring public companies to disclose their ratio of CEO-to-worker compensation, as required by Section 953(b) of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. This pay ratio disclosure requirement will help boards of directors and investors evaluate the overall level of CEO compensation relative to other company employees.
The ratio of CEO-to-worker pay is material information for investors for many reasons. Academic studies show that large pay disparities within a company can hurt employee teamwork, productivity, loyalty and motivation. The impact of high levels of CEO pay on employee morale is particularly important in todays weak economy, when workers are being asked to do more for less."
Sincerely,
Denny's is the latest to take Obamacare out on its employees. Don't go there!
I suggest that all these eateries that we are boycotting, if their business does go down and if you feel so inclined to drop in one occasionally and give a wait staff member a tip. But wait to see if their businesses decrease first. That's my 2 cents.
John Metz, Denny's Franchisee And Hurricane Grill & Wings Owner, Imposes Surcharge For Obamacare
John Metz said he will add a 5 percent surcharge to customers' bills to offset what he said are the increased costs of Obamacare, along with reducing his employees' hours.
While some business owners threaten to cut workers' hours to avoid paying for their health care, a West Palm Beach, Fla., restaurant owner is going even further. John Metz said he will add a 5 percent surcharge to customers' bills to offset what he said are the increased costs of Obamacare, along with reducing his employees' hours
"If I leave the prices the same, but say on the menu that there is a 5 percent surcharge for Obamacare, customers have two choices. They can either pay it and tip 15 or 20 percent, or if they really feel so inclined, they can reduce the amount of tip they give to the server, who is the primary beneficiary of Obamacare," Metz told The Huffington Post. "Although it may sound terrible that I'm doing this, it's the only alternative. I've got to pass the cost on to the customer."
ME - He sounds like a real "hate the 47% club member" to me. He failed to mention that besides paying the extra cost and tipping the wait staff off of that money or taking the money from the wait staff who are the "primary beneficiary of Obamacare" there is another choice. Read the menu, give your wait staff a tip and go somewhere else.
Walmart is harassing employees as they prepare for Black Friday stike.
Walmart Ex-Employee Was Handcuffed in Front of Workers
A former Walmart employee was handcuffed Wednesday when he visited his old store to talk to workers about next weeks Black Friday strike. Alex Rivera, who was fired in September, told The Nation that Walmart management intentionally misled Orlando police, leading them to detain him for twenty minutes in the store. The incident was denounced by the union-backed workers group OUR Walmart, which alleges that Walmart has been breaking the law to keep its workers in line.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
According to Rivera and an OUR Walmart organizer who accompanied him to the store, Rivera was leaning over to drink from a water fountain when a police officer grabbed his arm without warning, put him in handcuffs and led him to an office. Rivera said that the officer told him that Walmart management had informed the police that Rivera had previously signed a written trespassing warning obligating him not to return to the premises. Walmart lied to the police officer.
said Rivera. Thats why they handcuffed me.
Rivera added that when the stores asset protection manager suggested additional details for the officer to add to the police report, The police officer told him three times. He said no, Im not going to add that stuff. Rivera said that after discovering that the police department had no trespassing warning on file for him, the officer asked the stores co-manager to produce a copy of it. At that point, according to Rivera, the co-manager backtracked, and the police officer started making faces at the manager, and quickly released Riveras handcuffs. Rivera and the OUR Walmart organizer said that the officer issued them a trespassing warning against returning to the store, but told them that he never would have handcuffed Rivera if he hadnt been told incorrectly that he had already violated such a signed warning.

WI Lawmakers back bill to arrest federal officials who implement Obamacare

Nine Republican members of the Wisconsin Legislature say they would back a bill to arrest any federal officials who attempt to implement President Obama's signature health care law in the state.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that the nine state lawmakers told the Tea Party-aligned Campaign For Liberty that they support authorizing "state and local law enforcement to arrest federal officials attempting to implement the unconstitutional health scheme known as Obamacare."
One of the nine lawmakers backing Campaign for Liberty's proposal is state representative Chris Kapenga (R-Delafield), who told the Journal Sentinel that he believes the health care law is unconstitutional.
"Just because Obama was reelected does not mean he's above the constitution," he said.

Late last year Matthew Barzun, an official with the Obama campaign, called Craig Fox, a psychologist in Los Angeles, and invited him to a political planning meeting in Chicago, according to two people who attended the session.
Related He said, Bring the whole group; lets hear what you have to say, recalled Dr. Fox, a behavioral economist at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Simply identifying a person as a voter, as many volunteers did Mr. Jones, we know you have voted in the past acts as a subtle prompt to future voting, said Dr. Cialdini, a foundational figure in the science of persuasion. People want to be congruent with what they have committed to in the past, especially if that commitment is public, he said.
Many volunteers also asked would-be voters if they would sign an informal commitment to vote, a card with the presidents picture on it. This small, voluntary agreement amplifies the likelihood that the person will follow through, research has found.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Obama volunteers also asked people if they had a plan to vote and if not, to make one, specifying a time, according to Stephen Shaw, a retired cancer researcher who knocked on doors in Nevada and Virginia in the days before the election. One thing wed say is that we know that when people have a plan, voting goes more smoothly, he said.

A great response to all the "Cry babies and Sore Losers"
http://samuel-warde.com/2012/11/cry-babies-and-sore-losers/It's kind of long but I held on every word.
To Tea Party Patriots and hardcore Religious Engineers:
Republicans lost because their party leadership and most candidates feared you, listened to you, and looked the other way on important issues as you picked the dumbest, craziest nominees in key primaries (Murdock and Akin), or converted otherwise sensible, experienced candidates to Crazy Town (Romney).
Theres nothing wrong with wanting limited government. I do. Theres nothing wrong with believing in God, the Golden Rule, or wanting to reduce abortions. I do, too. But youve taken it too damn far and scare the shit out of people you could otherwise persuade.
Smart people can lose. But smart people always learn.
My computer was wrecked over the weekend by this virus. I paid someone to fix it
and he got me back on the internet. I then downloaded Superantispyware which I used to have and it found all sorts of crap on there including a Trojan.
But still now when I open a new tab I go to "Mystart by incredibar" and there is a search bar on the page and a moving slot type game on the page. I can't seem to get it out. I have checked with my Add-ons with Fire Fox and it is not listed there. I can't find anything listed in my program files. I just want it to open to a Google page.
Anyone know how I can kick them out and get google or nothing in?
Statement from Applebee's President Mike Archer about Obamacare
Source: Applebees
Applebees and the independent business owners who franchise our company's restaurants throughout the U.S. recognize that affordable health care is a critically important issue facing our country. Because final regulations and guidance are still pending from government agencies regarding the Affordable Care Act (ACA), exactly how our franchisees will implement the law when it takes effect in 2014 is still uncertain. However, we do know that our franchisees will comply fully with the law and take every measure possible to continue doing right by their employees -- the lifeblood of their businesses. Applebees franchisees have always led their companies as responsible, caring employers, and implementation of the new law will be consistent with that commitment.
Recent public comments by one Applebee's franchisee about the possible implications of the ACA on jobs within his individual company were not the views or opinions of either Applebee's or other franchisees, although we respect his right to speak freely as an American. Importantly, it is also worth noting that this franchisee opened a new restaurant last week that created approximately 200 jobs, and will be opening another restaurant next month with a similar number of positions. Applebee's and our franchisees remain committed to growing our business and providing opportunities for employees in the future.

Petition to tell the Bishops to back off the gay marriage thing.

This year the Catholic bishops joined forces with the far right to launch a vicious campaign against President Obama and against marriage equality. They spent millions of dollars, demonized their opponents, and even threatened laypeople with eternal damnation if they voted Democratic.
And now what do the bishops have to show for it? Most Catholics voted for President Obama, marriage equality is law in three additional states, and the bishops have become unpopular and polarizing political figures.
Now, with polls showing that most Catholics want the church to focus more on social justice and serving the poor, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops is meeting in Baltimore next week to plan their next steps.
Some jackass Romney whiner is saying that people with <30K income voted for Obama
greater than 60%. Which may be true but it pisses me off that he is saying this. He also said he might become a Democrat next time so he can get a free ride and a free meal on election day.
What do I say to this guy. He has already announced that he is a 1%'er. He is a pompous ass. Now they are doing everything they can to try an make Obama's win seem not such a big thing.
And does anyone know what % of the population voted this year? Because this guy and another one are trying to say that Obama was voted in with less than 25% of the population which means that less than 50% must have voted.
What cry babies they are.
