3 held in Las Vegas on terror charges in RIGHT-wing conspiracy to spark violence during protests

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Prosecutors: 3 held in Las Vegas on terror charges in right-wing conspiracy to spark violence during protests

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Three Nevada men with ties to a loose movement of right-wing extremists advocating the overthrow of the U.S. government have been arrested on terrorism-related charges in what authorities say was a conspiracy to spark violence during recent protests in Las Vegas.

Federal prosecutors say the three white men with U.S. military experience are accused of conspiring to carry out a plan that began in April in conjunction with protests to reopen businesses closed because of the coronavirus and later sought to capitalize on protests over the death of a Minneapolis man in police custody.

They were arrested Saturday on the way to a protest in downtown Las Vegas after filling gas cans at a parking lot and making Molotov cocktails in glass bottles, according to a copy of the criminal complaint obtained by The Associated Press.

The complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Las Vegas on Wednesday said they self-identified as part of the “boogaloo” movement, which U.S. prosecutors said in the document is “a term used by extremists to signify coming civil war and/or fall of civilization.”

the power of understatement

Robert Hendrickson, rector at St. Phillip's Episcopal Church in Tucson, Ariz.

This is an awful man, waving a book he hasn’t read, in front of a church he doesn’t attend, invoking laws he doesn’t understand, against fellow Americans he sees as enemies, wielding a military he dodged serving, to protect power he gained via accepting foreign interference, exploiting fear and anger he loves to stoke, after failing to address a pandemic he was warned about, and building it all on a bed of constant lies and childish inanity. This is not partisan. It is simply about recognizing the moral vacuum that is now pretending to lead.

Trump left his bunker and people along the route expressed themselves loud and clear

Never mind that the world is burning—his focus is as it always has been: laser-focused on himself. But once outside the cozy confines of his White House bunker, he got a look at what people really think of him—and it wasn’t pretty.

Pool photographers captured the mood from the motorcade. Trump is lucky there weren’t any carts full of rotten tomatoes anywhere near these folks.

Elizabeth Warren joins the crowd at the WH fence.

Just interviewed @ewarren who came down to see the protest outside the White House- she’s getting cheers. She told me she came here because she had an obligation to bear witness to this moment

NYPD officers overheard on police scanner: "Run them over. Shoot those motherfuckers."

NYPD officers overheard on police scanner threatening violence against protesters. A person called in to describe the scene, and someone responded, "Run them over. Shoot those motherfuckers."

Right after, someone said, "Don't put that over the air."

Trump caught in shameful lie: "they used no tear gas."

Trump camp released a statement on Biden's speech claiming he "repeated the erroneous claim that protestors in Lafayette Park were tear gassed last night to clear a path for Pres. Trump, when Park Police says they used no tear gas."

Our @GarrettHaake was there. Read his account.

Hey Neal. I was there. Tear gas was definitely used, and park police can’t 🤷🏼?♂️ that. And there was no object-throwing before the mounted park police moved in. Don’t want to tell you how to do your job, but using a background source to deny observable fact seems like a bad call.

This was from tear gas. A block from the church.
