Trump for TREASON

There should be calls to bring this monster up on charges of Treason for making comments like those.

Mr. Trump’s call was an extraordinary moment at a time when Russia is being accused of meddling in the U.S. presidential election. His comments came amid questions about the hacking of the Democratic National Committee’s computer servers, which researchers have concluded was likely the work of two Russian intelligence agencies.

Later in the news conference, when asked if he was really urging a foreign nation to hack into the email server of Mrs. Clinton, or a least meddle in the nation’s elections, he dismissed the question. “That’s up to the president,” Mr. Trump said, before finally telling the female questioner to “be quiet — let the president talk to them.”

NY Times: Trump Challenges Russia to Find Clinton’s Missing Emails (dupe)

DORAL, Fla. — Donald J. Trump directly addressed Russia in a news conference in Florida on Wednesday, openly calling on it to find the roughly 30,000 emails that Hillary Clinton deleted from her private email server.

“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” Mr. Trump said, staring directly into the cameras. “I think you will probably be mightily rewarded by our press.”

Mr. Trump’s call was an extraordinary moment at a time when Russia is being accused of meddling in the U.S. presidential election. His comments came amid questions about the hacking of the Democratic National Committee’s computer servers, which researchers have concluded was likely the work of two Russian intelligence agencies.

Mr. Trump has largely dismissed assertions that Russia was behind the Democratic committee breach as conspiracy theories — a view he reiterated again when he said the hack “is probably not Russia.”

90 percent of unwavering Sanders supporters plan to vote for Clinton in November

Among the weird scenes from the first day of the Democratic convention in Philadelphia is this one. A truck sponsored by the conspiracy-theory site Infowars toting a billboard reading "Hillary for Prison 2016" rolled up to some pro-Bernie Sanders protesters. Infowars doesn't fit neatly onto the political spectrum, but it's by no means liberal. The Sanders supporters, though, liked what they saw.

This was shortly after the Florida delegation to the convention enthusiastically booed Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the outgoing head of the Democratic National Committee — and a member of the House representing the state.

The picture that develops is of a party split by support for and opposition to Hillary Clinton. But it serves as a good demonstration of the importance of keeping anecdotal evidence in context.

Pew Research has been polling on the 2016 campaign for months, allowing it to track attitudes among voters over time. Nearly half of the Democratic electorate, 44 percent, changed their preference over the course of the three surveys Pew conducted. About 3 in 10 supported Clinton, wire-to-wire; about 20 percent Sanders.

Pew asked those consistent Sanders supporters whom they support in the general election. Ninety percent said they back Hillary Clinton.

Bernie Sanders' Former Staffer: "No One Stole the Election From Us"

In a heated tweetstorm, Symone D. Sanders rejected the notion that Sanders was cheated.

As the Democratic National Convention kicks off today, there's one group of attendees who are reluctant to say they're #WithHer. For many Bernie Sanders delegates, the senator remains the only choice, or, as a few of them suggested in video interviews with Mother Jones—they'd rather vote for Donald Trump. Especially in light of a recent hack into the DNC's internal email servers that revealed negative comments against Sanders, some Bernie supporters appear to believe that Hillary Clinton had swindled them in a rigged system.

But after Sanders' attempt to rally support for Clinton this morning led to boos and protests, Sanders' former national press secretary, Symone D. Sanders, took to Twitter to reject notions that the senator had been cheated. "I worked there," she tweeted. "No one stole the election from us." Check out her tweetstorm below: (rest of story at link)

Who is up for a little game of poke the Donald?

Trump To Do A Reddit AMA On Wednesday

Republican nominee Donald Trump will host an "Ask Me Anything" (AMA) session on Reddit this Wednesday. The post will go live at 6:30 p.m. and Trump will begin answering questions at 7:00 p.m. The AMA will be hosted on the subreddit r/The_Donald, a pro-Trump forum which has done AMAs with other noteworthy Trump supporters.

Winners and losers from the first night of the Democratic convention WAPO

* Sarah Silverman

Losers
* Debbie Wasserman Schultz
* Elizabeth Warren: The Massachusetts Senator had a tough task — following Michelle Obama

If Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker or Al Franken were losers, then the first night was a home run.
