On edit: I intend to only work for real Democrats in 14.

I have worked on many a campaign over the last many decades, and am quite involved locally with the party. I intend to work only with real progressives, no faux Democrats for me.

God bless their little hearts. Pathetic.

I am starting this Pre-Impeachment thread at this time.

Enough is enough. This is in regards to the chained CPI being brought up once again. Because I have not verified the information, it will only be a pre-impeachment thread for now. Should I find out that chained CPI is once again on the table, I will modify it to a full impeachment thread.

I vow to work to impeach *anyone who is involved with chained CPI, whether or not it passes. If it is once again on the table, anyone who entertains it will face impeachment challenges, and to the extent possible, challengers at election time. I have completely had it with Washington.

Obama is the best we have, for now, but honestly that's not saying much at this point. Sorry to all those who love him. I used to. Not so much now. There are a million reasons to change course, and I mean sooner rather than later. For our children, and our future. We need to start thinking about impeachment of a SCOTUS justice, too, for other reasons, along with anyone who doesn't immediately move to fix this country.

I voted for someone to fix the Wall St bankers and make those screwed whole. Didn't happen. It's a mess. Flame away.

This is why I never post here anymore. What good does it do to have rules when the search box

doesn't work? I searched for that thread before I posted it. Just makes me look like an idiot. I'm done. Vent over. Back into hiding, until the next whack-a-mole. GRRRRR.

Arpaio crony, Fox News darling, Senate candidate and militia leader arrested for child molestation

Source: Daily Kos

Gee, who could've predicted it? His former wives said he was violent and beat their kids. The Southern Poverty Law Center reported that he had a very dark side and "troubled past." His young daughter said he tried to molest her. And yesterday it caught up with one of Arizona's most well-known border hawks:

A one-time border activist was arrested Wednesday by Phoenix police and accused of sexual conduct involving three girls younger than 10 years old, police said.
Christopher Allen Simcox, 52, who founded the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps in 2005, was booked into a Maricopa County jail on suspicion of child molestation, attempted child molestation and sexual exploitation of a minor. Arizona Republic

A former supporter of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and other anti-immigration buttfaces, like recalled Sen. Russell Pearce, Simcox today sits in Arpaio's jail. It's a long fall from just a few years ago, when the handsome and articulate nativist regularly appeared on Fox News, praising SB 1070 and blasting any attempts at immigration reform.

Instead of naming it PRISM or however it's spelled, the should have named it Edgar. nt

Russ Feingold For Senate In 2016?

Former Wisconsin Democratic Sen. Russ Feingold last week left the door open to challenging the Republican who defeated him, teasing Democrats that he may run in 2016.

Feingold spoke to party faithful on Friday at the state Democratic convention in Oconomowoc, Wis.

"I don't come to you tonight as a candidate, at least not in 2013 or 2014, or 2015," said Feingold in a comment met by cheers from the audience.

Feingold lost his seat in 2010, when Republicans swept the midterm elections. He was beaten by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), who will be up for reelection in 2016. Feingold's comments at the convention, however, ruled out a run against Gov. Scott Walker (R) in 2014. Washington Post blogger Jennifer Rubin wrote on Monday that Feingold would be a good choice for Democrats for president in 2016.

So I take it National Journal is a right-wing publication?

*note: I have never laid eyes on it before today, if that tells you how well-read I apparently am not.

Steve Schmidt sure has been down to earth lately. (with a Bachmann aside)

Saw him twice in the last couple of days on MSNBC. Rachel had him on and gave him the business regarding Bob Dole's rather blunt assessment recently of the state of the Republican party. Just an observation of my own about Schmiidt's demeanor. What do you all think of 2014/16 at this time? Also, regarding Bachmann's departure, do you suppose the state of the Republican party is such that they will field someone equally as extreme or even more so for that race? I just don't see how the Republicans can possibly coalesce around anything meaningful or solidly centrist anytime soon. Thoughts?

Local radio stations being sold

Local radio stations being sold
By Baylee Pulliam
The Herald Bulletin

ANDERSON, Ind. — Don’t touch that dial.

Six east central Indiana radio stations, including Anderson’s WHBU (AM 1240) and Alexandria’s WMQX (FM 96.7), are being sold to Woof Boom Radio, a new group headed by veteran broadcaster J Chapman.
The goal is to return the stations to local control, Chapman said, which would better-serve their combined estimated 89,400 weekly listeners. The stations are currently owned by Backyard Broadcasting LLC, based in Jacksonville, Fla.

“I can’t stress ‘local’ enough,” Chapman said. “We want to understand what’s important to the community.” For Anderson and Alexandria, he said that could include programming focused on and produced in Madison County.

My comments: I can't believe this is happening. An actual step in the right direction. I hope it starts a trend, that's for sure.
