I'm sitting in line to get my 2nd vaccination

They moved me and the rest of the faculty up because there was not enough others who showed up this morning due to the weather so we get them. I'm so thankful for Governor Pritzker! My former colleagues in Indiana are still waiting to be put on the list!

I have been in person teaching 600 elementary children per week since August, so I'm very relieved.

What I did after watching Rachel Maddow tonight 6-19-20

She reported about the hostile takeover of Voice of America and other media outlets by a Steve Bannon associate. It made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

I replied to another DUer earlier in the week that I was going to become a star member again. I had moved and changed banks, and had not gotten around to redoing my membership.

No longer! I promptly got my credit card out, and swiftly chose the monthly donation option. I am a Star Member once more!

I sincerely suggest that all non-Star members reading right now do the same. We must not let these right-wing lunatics reduce our access to actual news. Donating is a step in the right direction!

I'm sitting in a Menards parking lot in Princeton, IN

My husband went in for some tools he needs for his job. Yes, he is still working outside our home.

Beautiful day, windows on the car are partially down to catch a nice breeze.

Remember, this is the middle of bright Red Trumpster town.

Menards only has one entrance open. People are stomping away from the others like children because they aren't being allowed in to their chosen door

Menards is requiring masks to he let in. Some people have them, some people don't, and then go to their car an miraculously find one. Others stomp off like children because they aren't being let in without one

If right wing Toadies Menards is turning away customers without masks, this virus is serious.

All of a sudden I see Snowflakes...

Meet Shadow_Goddess!

This is a very proud Mom moment for me!

Many Veteran DU members may remember a few posts over the years about my daughter's political upbringing. It started when she was four. She said she didn't like George W. Bush because "he sent Daddy away (to Iraq)". She loved Obama and cried with me when Hillary lost.

She has grown into an intelligent, independent and outspoken young lady. She begins her Senior year of High School this year.

She joins us today as new DUer Shadow_Goddess. Please welcome her!
