Can someone do me a HUGE favor? Pretty Please?????

My streaming went south just as the debate ended. I keep hearing about how down willard, queen ann & their brood looked.

Would someone PLEASE post some photos or a link so I can see for myself?

BTW, Bravo, Mr. Prez!!!!!

Thank you Mr. VP!!!!!

You kicked ryan's lying arse, and...

...you've given me a term to describe republican speak for the rest of this campaign...MALARKEY!!!!

Here's my fearless (and somewhat tounge in cheek) forecast for tonight's debate.

If paul ryan pisses himslf on stage, then right wing media will praise him for water purification and his commitment to the environment.

If paul ryan craps his pants on stage, then right wing media will commend him for saving on toilet paper and again praise his desire to protect the environment.

If paul ryan lies his ass off (ooops, I mean when paul ryan lies his ass off), then right wing media will be out in force saying that he spoke gospel truth.

If Joe Biden clears his throat, then right wing media will start screaming "GAFFE", declare that willard has just won the election AND...liberal media (and many panic addicted DUers)will agree and hurry to jump off the bandwagon and complain that President Obama wasn't primaried. It'll be worse if he clears his throat twice.

I may be exaggerating, but not by much. That's my 2 cents, and quite possibly overpriced at that!

May I ask a question to add in our continuing (but hopefully receeding) poll panic?

Hay mitt, when are you going to roll down the windows of your jet and toss out the tax returns?

I wouldn't recommend that any of us hold our breaths for very long.

May I inject a brief history lesson into all of this poll panic?

During the 1984 campign, the news media was TOTALLY in the bag for reagan to have a landslide over the Mondale/Ferraro ticket. We were being deluged by the media every day prior to the first debate that it was going to be the political equivalent of a public execution and that Mondale had NO CHANCE against "the great communicator".

In the first debate, Mondale was in control from the opening statement and reagan was every bit the senile, doddering old idiot that he was ever since a few months after he was shot. I remember a highly placed Democrat proclaiming that there was now a new "great communicator". Mondale's highlight in that debate was how he was able to turn the tables on reagan when he again used the "there you go again" line that he'd used (pretty effectively) against President Carter in their 1980 debate.

A few days later, Geraldine Ferraro did pretty damned well against bush senior in thei VP debate. Mondale/Ferraro went from being down by 15 to down by 4 in a matter of days.

In the second debate, reagan used a line about Mondale's "youth and inexperience" to "win" their second and final debate.

We all remember who won that election and by how much. For those of you who weren't around then, it wasn't Mondale.

One consequence that I'm sure the media hasn't anticipated is that now, going into the second debate, the expectaions for President Obama are near zero in the public's collective mind. The media has been on a steady drumbeat of willard's brilliance as a debater. They kinda forget willard's biggest problem, which is that willard is STOOOOOPID!

I'm fully expecting a very significant turnaround after the second Obama/willard debate. Our president is a very intelligent and very competitive man. He won't allow this to happen to him twice.

That's my 2 cents, and quite possibly overpriced at that!

IMHO, willard made one HUGE gaffe last night.

Your heart is where you put your money.

My hope is that Mr. cayman Islands/Swiss Bank Account will get that rammed into every available orafice in some ads.

It sounds to me like Willard is trying...

...to re-introduce sarah palin(comparison's) "Death Panels"

Any Guilty pleasure fans here?

I have to confess that even though I know that they're TOTAL trash, I just love the Investigation Discovery movies like "Deadly Women" and "Disappeared". It's like gossip on tv, with a lot of "who's screwin' who" thrown in. These are things that I NEVER indulge in at work, but I love these admittedly trashy and total BS shows.

Anyone else?

A possible reason why the President doesn't deem to be getting hurt by the rightist super PACS.

I think that sincere the republican script since the day that the President took office has been nothing BUT the equivalant of a never ending negative camapign ad, the public may have tuned it out by now and the attacks have just become so much white noise.

Thoughts? Anyone? Bueller...Bueller?

I have wonderful news to share with the DU Community.

As many of you know, my family and I went through a number of really rough times in the last few years. We were homeless and living in transitional housing for 8 months of 2009, primarily due to either my wife or I being out of work from March of 2008 until October of 2009. I was out of work again from June of 2011 until April of this year and was laid off after 4 months but, fortunately, started my new job the week before Labor day.

However, with all of these catastrophes, we were able to at least keep my wife's credit from being hit TOO hard.

Last Friday, we made closing on a lovely little home in Winthrop, Maine. While we were happy in many of the apartments we've lived in since moving to Maine 10 years ago, and while my home is wherever my wife and son are, we have always been HOUSE people. We have now moved into a lovely little ranch with 3 bedrooms, a bath, a BIG kitchen and livingroom on just under 1/2 acre of land. All of our things are in and waiting to find their place and I am feeling every minute of my 57 years.

This is our final move. We buy the house, but our son will sell it. I am only moving out of this house when the Undertaker is taking me to be cremated.

The funny thing is that now, at age 57, I am DONE! I am never moving again. I am also finished with job hunting. I will work at my new job until I retire. If I haven't advanced within this agency five years from now, I'm going to hit the silk, apply for early Social Security and drop down to part time and paul ryan can go fuck himself with his Medicare vouchers. Maybe I'll make it 6 years so that I won't retire before my son gets out of high school. My only thought is that as far as moving and job hunting go, I AM DONE!

I realize that some of what I'm saying may be motivated by my tiredness from the move. I also realize that 20 years from now, when we're watching our grandchildren play in the yard, not one damn thing about the difficulty of the move or the process of getting there will matter for a freaking thing. My wife and I are in the exact house that we've always wanted in the town that we've wanted to live in since we moved here to Maine. I am now, at this moment, watching "How I Met Your Mother" on Netflix with my son who just got an A+ on his 7th grade Social Studies report today while my wife is sleeping like a baby in our bedroom in our home.

On Friday, September 21, 2012, all is well and good with our family and I'm a happy and contented man.

Thank you for reading, thank you for your support during the hard times and thank you for allowing me to share our good news with you!

BTW, where are the taxes, Mitt?
