"This Shit In Gaza Is Out Of Control…"

Where was the Republican "poutrage" then?

The Prez was in full strut mode while getting on AF One… He jogged up the stairs like a BOSS

It was just shown on the Rev's show

I really hope that Righties got a gander of the Prez strutting his stuff… I'm running low right now on their delicious tears of unmitigated sadness.

I need a refill!

This Matt Kibbe guy on Tweety's show is part of the problem…

Sticking their heads into holes and denying the world around them.

When I was a kid, Hostess fruit pies were to die for

They were tasty, the crust was flaky and you got plenty of filling. My fave were the French Apple pies.

A short while back, when I was waiting in line at the party store, I came across a Hostess peach pie on the stand. I was hungry and haven't had a fruit pie in many a year, so I decided to give it a go. Needless to say, I was not happy with the product.

The pie was flat from the lack of filling. The crust, no longer flaky, was akin to cardboard and the taste was atrociously bitter and super-super sweet at the same time. I wondered, "What the hell happen to Hostess?"

Apparently, unrestrained capitalism… The panacea of every Right Wing Republican asshole, DID not give Hostess an incentive to excel in the manufacture of its own product. Poor management was to blame. If the owners wanted to protect their name, they would not have allowed product quality to deteriorate so dramatically over the years.

They would have said, "We need to improve. We need to make a better product, we need to take care of our loyal employees and our customers alike."

They did not.

But let's face it, if you own a company, load it up with debt, drive it into Chapter 11, skimp on product quality, exploit the labor force out of their livelihoods, disappoint your customers, pay yourselves extravagant salaries and bonuses and have a plan to liquidate the company's assets while blaming your disingenuous negotiating skills on the workers that you're about to kick out on the street while welshing on their wages and pensions… Then you must think that you're the greatest capitalist in the world…

You're about to hit BIG, baby and you're loving it, because that's all you really care about.

(Just try to resist screaming "I'm Rich!" at the top of your lungs when you're killing all of those jobs and cherished memories at the same time.)

Whenever you hear someone describe themselves as a "Republican"…

You can take it as a cue that it means that they're about to start being an asshole.

What non-political thing do you detest the most?

I detest peanut butter cookies and people eating crunchy things next to my ears.

I detest them both equally.

Same here, H.L., same here.

EVERYTHING is a Conspiracy...

Do you think that food just appears in a grocery store for no reason at all?

Of course, not!

THEY put it IN the grocery stores because that would force us to PAY for it in order to get it OUT!

Man, THEY think of EVERYTHING!

We can't possibly win against them...

THEY own us.

Do you think that stories just APPEAR on the evening news out of thin air?

Of course, not!

PEOPLE do things that are noteworthy enough to get EXPOSED on the evening news.

They are doing stuff like ALL of the time.

We can NEVER stop people from doing it...

They will ALWAYS get our attention.

Are you always AFRAID that will could get caught doing something WRONG, even when you think that you're not doing ANYTHING wrong at all?

Of course, you are!

They can always come up with reasons to accuse you of doing something wrong, even when you have no idea of knowing what you did wrong.

That's why your best bet is to never get caught of doing those wrong things than you never knew were wrong.

They're waiting to catch you now.

You have to make sure that they don't

What ever it is, it really isn't what you think it is... It's really something that someone else knows about. So until you really KNOW what it is, while you don't, what else can it be other than a conspiracy?

Joseph Campbell should rise from his grave to slay The Disney Corporation

Disney has long been responsible for bastardizing mythic acculturalization and assimilation to comform to its own trademarked visual and narrative styles.

The myths that Disney have acquired were reshaped to accommodate its commercial exploitation of them. They're acquired the rights to Native American, European and Latin American myths. Myths that were created from historical narratives and literary masterpieces. Modern and ancient myths.

And now they have acquired the ownership of Marvel Comics, LucasFilm and, most recently, The Holy Bible itself. Three of the most well known myth creating venues in American society.

Disney's commercial exploitation dumbs down the mythic narrative so that it's no more than a commercial product to be consumed by the lowest common denominator. A form of ethnic bleaching is used to make their myths palatable for maximum appeal by the majority population. Real complex and accurate cultural and historical aspects are replaced with stereotypical depictions, maudlin and sappy musical accompaniment and fanciful dance. Disney's own trademarked artistic aesthetic is used to alter the mythic tone to its own for maximum commercial appeal.

It creates trademarked characters that were never in the mythic narratives that it has acquired. Changes the time, meaning and impact of historical events.

It fashions its own reality in order to achieve the highest profit potential possible.

Lost in all of this cultural bleaching is any real association to the source material. Both literary and oral traditions are trashed and replaced with a caricatured framework to be consumed.

Instead of reading source works, understanding the existential points and historical complexities of the subject matter, bright colors, sounds, songs, phrasing replaces all of that. Consumers adopt the commercial visage instead, without even knowing what the original myths were all about.

If we lose access and control of our own cultural narrative, we lose the ability to define what we're all about. Not only do we become the stuff of talking animals and animated flatware, we lose sight of the history of racial, cultural and sexual identity.

When our myths are trademarked, they no longer belong to all of us, they only belong to the people who own the trademarks.
