Horrific Animal Abuse - Cattle Farm CO

WARNING the video is extremely disturbing - baby calves being thrown into piles and trucks.

An investigation into a cattle company near Kersey has led to several people being cited for animal abuse, including the animal activist who turned video footage of the alleged abuse over to authorities.

Taylor Radig, who has been associated with animal rights organization Compassion Over Killing, worked as a temporary employee at Quanah Cattle Co. near Kersey from mid-July to September 2013. During that time, Radig filmed hours of alleged cattle abuse at the company and turned her videos into the Weld County Sheriff’s Office two months after she stopped working there, according to a WCSO news release.

When talking to investigators, Radig referred to herself as a “contractor” for the nonprofit animal advocacy organization, which is based in Washington, D.C.

By not reporting the alleged abuse in a timely manner, Radig was seen as negligent and cited for animal cruelty, a Class 1 misdemeanor. She’s also believed to have participated in the cattle abuse incidents reported to the sheriff’s office, the news release said.

Militia nut openly calls for Obama`s assassination on Facebook

The head of the Christian American Patriots Militia has put out an open call on Facebook for the assassination of President Obama.

“We now have authority to shoot Obama, i.e., to kill him,” writes Everest Wilhelmsen on his personal Facebook page.

Wilhelmsen continues: ”His willful violations and alienation of our Constitution, constant disregard for our peaceful protests and corruption of all the three branches of government, (i.e., rogue and illegitiimate government), reveal the dictator that he is…. I would be very surprised, if Obama does not leave Washington DC today (Nov. 19th) …never to return, if he is not dead within the month. ”

Wilhelmsen also has a Facebook page he administers, called Christian American Patriots Militia. The page has 1,389 members.

In addition to simply hating the President, and being convinced that he was born in Kenya and is a Muslim, Wilhelmsen is a supporter of the Tea Party, anti-Obamacare, and very concerned about Benghazi. Oh, and he’s also apparently a big supporter for the 2nd Amendment.

The threat against the President – or call for him to be assassinated – was posted two days ago, on November 19, 2013. Oddly, it has yet to be taken down.http://americablog.com/2013/11/militia-nut-openly-calls-obamas-assassination-facebook.html

Zero Prosecutions of People SOS Said Voted Illegally - Gessler - CO

Gessler is running for Governor 2014.

Since taking over the Secretary of State’s Office in 2011, Scott Gessler has loudly and repeatedly claimed that non-citizens were illegally voting in Colorado elections.

The Republican, who has long called for a new law requiring people to show proof of citizenship before voting, made national news when he went before Congress that year making a blockbuster statement that 16,270 non-citizens were registered to vote in Colorado and 5,000 of them actually had cast ballots in the 2010 state elections, when Democrat Michael Bennet narrowly defeated Republican Ken Buck for the U.S. Senate.

But since making those claims, Gessler’s office said it has been able to identify only 80 non-citizens statewide who were on the voter rolls over the past nine elections, representing 0.0008 percent of the more than 10 million ballots that have been cast in those general elections, and those ballots don’t include primary races or local elections that were held during that time.

After years of critics demanding that Gessler forward names of suspected non-citizens whom he said were on the voter rolls, his office referred a list of 155 suspected non-
citizen voters in July to 15 district attorneys across the state, recommending prosecution and issuing a strongly worded statement saying the list was proof the state’s election system is “vulnerable.”

New York, NY - -(Ammoland.com)- Award-winning NPR series Intelligence Squared U.S. (IQ2US)— the Oxford style debates championing the art of debate and intelligent discussion—will take up one of America’s most hotly contested and timely issues with a panel of some of academia’s top thinkers on November 14th 2013 with “The Constitutional Right to Bear Arms Has Outlived Its Usefulness.”

Recent mass shooting tragedies have renewed the national debate over the 2nd Amendment. Gun ownership and homicide rates are higher in the U.S. than in any other developed nation, but gun violence has decreased over the last two decades even as gun ownership may be increasing. Over 200 years have passed since James Madison introduced the Bill of Rights. The country has changed and so have its guns.

Is the right to bear arms now at odds with the common good, or is it as necessary today as it was in 1789?

Harvard Law School Professor Alan Dershowitz with University of Texas Law and Government Professor Sanford Levinson will argue for the motion. David Kopel, Research Director of the Independence Institute and Associate Policy Analyst with the Cato Institute will argue against the motion with UCLA Law Professor, Eugene Volokh.

WHAT: Intelligence Squared U.S. Debates “The Constitutional Right to Bear Arms Has Outlived Its Usefulness”
WHEN: Thursday, November 14, 2013 / Reception 5:45-6:30 / Debate 6:45-8:30 PM
WHERE: Kaufman Center/129 W. 67th Street (bet. Broadway and Amsterdam)/New York, NY 10023
TICKETS: $40 ($12 for students w/ ID). To purchase, visit http://www.intelligencesquaredus.org/

The debate will take place in front of a live audience at Kaufman Center in New York City. Before the debate, audience members will vote on the motion; afterward, the audience votes again. The team that moves the most voters to its side will be the winning team in this provocative debate.

ACK - GOP Bidding Denver for 2016 Convention

WASHINGTON — The Colorado GOP is preparing to make a bid for Denver to host the 2016 Republican National Convention — potentially delivering the state a repeat economic boost received when it hosted the Democratic National Convention five years ago.

Party President Ryan Call confirmed the news to The Denver Post Wednesday.

Besides Denver's already proven record at hosting the massive four-day international event that draws roughly 50,000 visitors, Call said a 2016 GOP convention in Denver would be apropos because it will be "bookends of eight years of an Obama regime."

Junk Insurance Policies

I've heard many a horror stories about junk insurance - my friend had to take out a 2nd mortgage to pay for the 2 hour stay at the hospital for a stroke. $25,000. He nearly lost everything....barely hanging on now

Junk” health insurance leaves individuals and the nation vulnerable to high medical costs.

able to high medical costs.

The horror stories are rampant. Around the nation, people who liked their inexpensive individual insurance plans say they must replace them with a more expensive one because of the Affordable Care Act.

The stories raise two distinct issues.

One is whether President Barack Obama lied when he said, more than once, “If you like your plan, you can keep it.”

Certainly Obama was wrong. Maybe he was making a paternalistic assumption that people do not “like” lousy individual insurance policies. Maybe he expected insurance companies to immediately begin upgrading policies, not anticipating how they would react to the uncertainty surrounding implementation of law. Or maybe he was lying.

Distinct from Obama’s motives is whether the fact not all people can keep the cheap individual insurance policies they “like” is a bad thing.

The policies being canceled under Obamacare do not meet even the minimum standards of the law. They fall far short of the platinum, gold and silver policies, and can’t even meet the minimalist coverage requirements of a bronze policy,http://www.timesdaily.com/opinion/editorials/article_59e06dba-4b1d-11e3-8290-10604b9f1ff4.html
