calimary's JournalFirst mistake re 1.6 billion: they should've added a zero. Or TWO. FOUR would be even better.
Welcome to DU, hildegaard28!
Sounds like one of those "taste of their own medicine. See how they like it" strategies.
I WHOLEHEARTEDLY approve! Granted, those here on this thread who don't approve - I totally get that. But fighting fair doesn't get us anywhere - at least with the enemy we're up against, now. Sometimes it IS true - even if we don't like it or are uncomfortable with the whole idea. "If Republicans can play dirty, we should, too." Whatever it takes. And I agree. Taste of their own medicine. See how they like it.
And if it means rolling in the dirt, well, I'll gladly do it so others don't have to. And frankly, another reason why this is worth considering is - the enemy thinks we're suckers, marks, easily rolled, always fighting fair, not willing to do whatever it takes to win. They kicked honor to the curb a long time ago - anything to win. They're expecting us to be patsies and pushovers. And that's how they play it. Well, to hell with that! I ain't playin'. Time to knock them off their game. When they can no longer predict how we'll respond, they lose a tactical advantage. And it'll probably take most of 'em awhile to wake up about it, too. Something that's always worked is something that will breed complacence. A weakness. The proverbial Achilles Heel. And remember, the assumed-invincible Achilles proved NOT so invincible in the end.
They are GIANTS. The Beatles' place in pop and rock music hostory
is unsurpassed. They led what was soon known as the British Invasion with a whole lot of everybody putting bands together, getting signed, touring and hoping to make it in America. A lot of them did! Stones, Dave Clark Five, Hermans Hermits (sigh ), Freddie and the Dreamers (do the Freddie!), Chad & Jeremy, the Kinks, the Animals, the Hollies, the Who, and more! MAN those were the days
That was MY HUSBAND I was screaming for, I'll have you know!
When I was the ripe ol age 11, Ill have you know!
The Beatles broke through when I was in 5th grade. I had three close friends and happily enough, we all liked a different Beatle. So we had a Mrs. Harrison, Mrs. Starlet, Mrs. Lennon (never mind that John was the married one), and I was Mrs. McCartney.
"First, do no harm."
Thats just a tiny, four-word directive out of a larger statement.
I wish state and federal legislators had to follow the same sort of guideline. But Id expect most of em would mouth the words but dont intend to take it to heart or follow it at all.
That last one REALLY made me sad.
Its sad but true.
Sometimes its harder to get in touch with the ol sense of humor.
NICE!!!
Any of us who can should go into their local Walgreens and
ask for the manager. Then politely explain why theyve just lost your business. And then leave WITHOUT buying anything.
Even in states where Walgreens doesnt support this anti-woman/anti-free choice dictate. They need to get the message. Even in states where Walgreens is more grounded in the 21st century, they should STILL hear, see, and know this is NOT okay. And that it will cost them customers.
If you object in the dark, nobodys gonna see or hear it.
Even better would be to present them with a letter youve written, objecting to this prehistoric and misogynistic stand theyve taken.
These things must not be done in a vacuum. The above-mentioned letter will have double impact if its a copy of a letter you sent to your local newspaper.
DONT STAY SILENT!!!
DONT KEEP IT TO YOURSELF!!!
Remember, your mom probably taught you to share!
Excellent! Congrats on a continuing life of satisfaction!
Youre only as old as you feel! And I bet you feel like a 20-something most of the time!
