Related: About this forumBead the Bern Bracelet Giveaway!
I finished the bracelet that I posted about last week in this thread http://www.democraticunderground.com/1280135041 and now I am going to give it to one lucky DUer.
This is what you win:
This was made using Delica beads on a beading loom. It is adjustable in length and should fit wrists from approx. 6 to 7 1/2+ inches.
To enter just leave a post in this thread saying that you want it. I will put the names in a hat and have my husband draw the winning name. The drawing will be around this time tomorrow evening.
That's it. No complicated rules except one: be nice. All DUers are eligible to enter so if someone you don't like wins don't get mad at me.
Good luck!

I can't even buy a Bernie T shirt or other swag.
My wife used to make jewelry and did a lot of bead work, I can imagine her compliments on your work in my head. You do Beautiful work.

whoops! Just checked my wrist it too big! But the Jane idea is a good one if you could get it to her.
pamela
(3,469 posts)It's only about 5 3/4 inches from end to end so, with a different clasp, it might fit. Also, it could be worn a bit higher up on the wrist.
Or, did you mean your wrist is too big? Again, a different clasp would make it bigger.
Pharaoh
(8,209 posts)It might just fit. Put me in! It's beautiful!

(23,156 posts)I do a small amount of beading myself, but nothing like that. I also embroider and crochet, so I know what goes into making things by hand.
I am sure whoever gets it, will wear it proudly.

(12,769 posts)How long did it take to make it?
pamela
(3,469 posts)I didn't keep track of the exact time but I only worked on it about an hour or two each day due to eye strain. (I need new glasses.) I'd say there is ten to fifteen hours total in it.

(12,769 posts)It is really nice and after all that work, I don't see how you can part with it.

pamela
(3,469 posts)This was kind of an experiment. I had a piece on my loom that was taking forever and then I got this Bernie idea and just wanted to see how it would look and I wanted to try out a new finishing technique. I was pretty pleased with the result (I wish I'd used a brighter background color) and I was really happy with the new finishing technique-should save me hours on future bracelets.
I have an idea for a twist on this design that I'm excited to try. (hint: think warhol.)

Mira
(22,378 posts)I'm so excited, I seriously am speechless.
I therefore don't know what to say and send a huge thank you along with the assurance that I will wear it with pride all the way to November and beyond, , knowing fully how special and unique it is.
I don't have a full appreciation of what went into the creation of it, but enough to appreciate the artistry and the design.
I have 4 Bernie workers staying here from all over the country, they have been here working for Bernie in NC and have slept in all possible bedroom and niches in my house for 2 weeks or so.
I have not seen harder working humans, they leave at 9 am and return by 1-2 in the morning, and they said they would work through the whole night tonight because tomorrow is the election in NC. I can't wait to corner them to show them what I won.
I don't mean to be rambling, but I'm so excited, and incredibly grateful.
I'm feeling the Bern, and what a gift on the eve of our big day tomorrow.
Champagne is on ice.
And Thank you so very very much pamela and husband who pulled my name.
