Bernie is the only one who does not ignore the First Nations.

The sign of two fingers sliding diagonally upward on the cheek ... is that tribe specific or the local sign for 'Native'?

I learned a different sign for 'Native' but it has been quite a number of years since I have been in the Deaf community and that was most likely in a different region, the dialects varying from place to place. The one I learned was an old sign for 'red', which was circular rubbing on the back of a fist.

I realize you probably don't know.. I just figured I'd ask anyway.

I wasn't sure if she meant Native in a general sense. Also, my receptive skills for fingerspelling that fast has declined quite a bit. I caught mes... w.. i and had no reference to fill the gaps. I haven't been around Deaf/ASL consistently since '09 and that was partial. I haven't been fully immersed since 1997-99.. ish.

I lifts my heart to see ASL again though. Thanks for sharing these.
