Lost In America

Hi there. I'm Lost in America. This is my first thread.

My name is Steve. I live in Denver, CO.

I'm 50 years old, gay, single, cynical, registered Democrat. I vote every election, by mail. IMNSHO, the entire Nation should copy the Absentee Ballot system that exists in Colorado. There are no duplicates. You get your ballot every cycle in addition to a booklet on the verbiage of the bills up for a vote in addition to the 'pros' and 'cons' of each. My only wish is that the ballots were postage paid, instead of having to put 2 stamps on it. But that is a very small price to pay for Democracy.

I work in the food and beverage industry. My days start at 3 in the morning and end sometime 8 or 10 hours later, Monday - Friday. I enjoy my job the days that I do and I dislike my job the days that I do. I also have a very small business. I make beer fudge pops and cream pops. I've also got a line of alcohol-infused pops, too. Likely over the winter, though, I will re-brand and expand my business to alcohol-free artisan fudge and cream pops and start selling them from bicycle vendors and at farmer's markets next year. I've already done a white chocolate root beer (homemade) pop, black cherry fudge pop, and a peanut butter jelly pop that I'm working on now.

I tend to surf here not logged in much more than I log in to post. I enjoy the fact that I can read breaking news from pretty much around the world here without having to surf 15 websites. I have been put on a time out already (sorry about that) and I've learned that it's best to keep my fingers shut the fuck up most of the time. I'll see what I can do to continue that.

So there I am in a nutshell. Glad to be here. I'm sure I'll get to know many of you, and prefer to ignore others. It is the way it is.

So cheers!

Sounds like you do pretty well.

I'd sure to know more about your beer pops. I have to admit, the term "beer fudge" is an intriguing one.

Cheers!

i love how easy it is to vote here. mail-in ballots, early voting and, up here, centralized polling places and ballot drop offs across town. we drop ours off so we can get the sticker but the lines are short, even on election day.
