Introducing Discussionist: A new forum by the creators of DU

Mon Jan 28, 2013, 10:47 AM

I just had to log in.

Did something weird happen? I was on already, and I always am logged on (checked the box for that) - I was reading a PM and then some posts from my subscriptions. I went to the latest page and saw *horror* ... ads! then none of the pages I tried were logged in anymore, not even from my bookmark and I had to do it manually.

A couple of days ago this happened briefly on the latest page only - I couldn't see the host forum icon and thought somehow my group hosting time had expired but by the time I looked and went back to the Latest page it was fine. No need to log back in that day.

1. So did I. I had already logged in this morning, but when I clicked on the tab I was

on the front page and ads were showing.

3. It happened to me too.... I'd hit the hosts forum and it said I had no right to access

and then I realized something had kicked me out/unlogged me.

All is well now--just a hiccup?

8. Me too...whew!

I thought I trashed the MIRT group by accident, or something.

4. Me, too.

The admins must be tinkering around under the hood again.

7. thanks for the replies, you guys

I never know if these things are me alone or what...didn't see any other posts about it so thought I would give a heads-up to admins if they needed it...

9. Me too. Sounds like a server restart

That can kill semi-persistent info.

11. Yes and it happened after I had posted a rather long reply to a post.

Fortunately I was able to back up and copy it.

12. Cookie expired.

Re-login and check the "Remain logged in at this computer?" checkbox. You'll be good for another year-or-so.
