How can I change my user name?
Now that the election is over, I would like to un-tether myself from RMoney.

1. In the past, the admins of the site have offered an amnesty period after
|
major events like a presidential election.
But I haven't seen any indication that they are doing that (yet?). I think your only option is to contact them directly with your request, but I know you are not the only one who wants this. |

2. Do you have another address under which you can open a DU account?
|
Many sock-puppets do.

Did you mean for your post to come off as insulting? |

4. No. I saw this well worn solution much used over the past decade
|
BTW, do you wanna hold your star over my head?
The new account is a simple solution to many problems including being tombstoned or PPR'd I understand you may want every penny's worth of your subscription donation. And the Admin, and Grovelbot, thank-you for your contributions. |

5. hardly
|
my point was that I prefer to just change my name rather than create an account. There is also the fact that secondary accounts or sock puppets violate TOS.

For the most part we operate in a system based onlyy on voluntary compliance and amorphous community enforced standards. It's likely that only Agent Mike would notice that your identity profile looks the same under 2 different usernames. |

7. goclarkObama here

I was a big supporter of Wesley Clark's when I joined
DU. One day I just decided to honor my all time hero when he did something extra special. Then I sign off as... Ms.goclarkObama |
