What is SOP, GC&RKBA.
If someone locks a thread should he explain why?
The above acronyms don't mean anything to me and thus I disagree with the locking.
Is this a place to complain?

1. They did explain why it was locked.
According to the Statement of Purpose of General Discussion, gun threads are not allowed unless it pertains to really big news. There is even a link in that SOP to the proper forum for gun topics - the Gun Control & Right to Keep and Bear Arms (Group).
That's what the locking message said, and I would agree that the thread should have been posted in the Gungeon based on the SoP of the forum.
Complaints go in Meta-discussion.

4. To see the SOP for each forum/group ...
When you are on the main page for each forum/group, for example GD: http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=forum&id=1002
there is a button there towards the top center that says ''About this forum''
when you click on that button this page will come up: http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=about&forum=1002
that is where it states what the 'purpose of the forum is'
each forum and group has their own SOP.
Hope that helps.
