I'd like to add an avatar.

While the blank image pretty well sums up my 71-year-old personality, I'd like to spice it up a bit. I've got my avatar picked out; how do I add it to my posts? (I have learned how to turn my computer on and off but I don't know much beyond that.)

Thanks for the help.

1. Go to "My Profile" at top of the page.

Scroll down to avatar.

Either pick one from those available or add your own by inserting the link. There is a limit on how big it can be if you decide to upload your own.

See how that goes.

4. Yeah, his pictures most often seen are of him as an older man.

Samuel Langhorne Clemens. Now I've got to come up with a signature line of one of his famous quotes. The problem is ~ there exists a plethora of them. Maybe: Facts are stubborn things, but statistics are more pliable. ~ Mark Twain

Thanks for the welcome. I've been kicking around our ball of dust for nearly 72 years and a member of DU for about 5% of that time. I read some posts every morning and post on rare occasions. Better to remain silent and be considered a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt.

5. My 82 year old father posts here, so you are a youngster.

Enjoy yourself and stay out of trouble!
