Did the page layout get changed?

So I logged on this morning and there were google ads galore and the screen area where the actual text is displayed seemed annoyingly small. I realized my donor star had expired so I renewed.
No google ads now, but there's still a very wide margin on the left side of the page with the forums/topic listings along it and an almost 1" margin on the right side. So the 'readable' area is still no better than with the ads . WTF? I almost want my $42 back if it's going to stay like this.

I guess if your subscription expires it resets to 'Standard'.
