What a find!!!!!!!!!!!!

Found Democratic Underground last night and decided to join today.
So far, haven't been disappointed. Love the spirited debates here.

A little about myself, I'm a 35 year Navy Veteran, enlisted in 1966, retired in 2001
I'm a Vietnam combat vet with 2 tours.

Been married to the same woman for 32 years.
Hobbies are riding our horses, boating, shooting, fishing, photographing animals, specially birds.

I come from a family of Democrats and I am a lifelong proud Democrat.
I hope to contribute positively to this site.

What you are about to experience will make you unpopular with the folks watching Fox.

If you frequent VA waiting rooms or VFW/Am Legion posts, etc., use discretion when you feel the urge to bring them into reality.

Those that watch Fox and believe their propaganda are just a bunch of puppets.

I joined the VFW when I retired, but grew tired of their constant belittling of liberals PDQ so I haven't attended any meetings in 7 years.

I'm still in good health and only had to go to the VA twice in the last 10 years so I don't worry to much about being unpopular.

I was born in 1966, and I've been with my spouse for 25 years. My husband loves boating and fishing, too (I'm more of a homebody).

I will start posting pics as soon as I figure out how to do so. My wife and I are great lovers of birds and we rescue House Sparrows, Starlings, and Pigeons, right now, we are the proud parents of 2 male Sparrows and 1 female Sparrow.
They really do make wonderful pets but they are very mischievous.

I myself just found this site this morning and it couldn't have come at a better time. I live in a highly conservative area and worse yet most of the people I talk to on a daily basis don't care to discuss politics because it's boring. Needless to say my days usually end in frustration. It saddens me to no end that the political discourse in this country has been whittled down to likings of a playground argument. With that said I am really looking forward to getting in on some good conversations!
