Two questions

I am not great on acronyms, to old I guess. I get LOL, IMHO, and ROFL but there are two I keep seeing and haven't caught on to. MIC and K&R. If any one can help that would be great.

Kind of on the same thought, I know DU stands for Democratic Underground, but I occasionally see DU2 and DU3. One again any help would be great.

1. K&R is kicked and rec

replying in a thread kicks it to the top of the list and people recommend threads that they like and when they do both it's a K and R.

No idea what MIC is though lol...I'll wait for that explanation with you.

You are posting on DU3 now - it's just the newest version of the board software. It was changed over earlier this year (or late december? I didn't mark it lol) You can still get to the old version but I don't know how...

2. MIC is military-industrial complex, i.e., not just actual DOD government employees,

but also all the contractors the DOD uses. And the DOD uses a lot of contractors -- not just to build weaponry, but also to staff their offices, provide support services to warfighters in the theater, etc.

There have been three major iterations of DU software. We made the transition from the second version (DU2) to the third (DU3) last December. IIRC, we went from DU1 to DU2 in 2003, before I signed up.

Let me offer you a belated welcome to DU!
