Woohoo! I officially hate straight sex!Last edited Sun Apr 29, 2012, 09:16 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1)
From a PM to me:
Your narrative that any sex a man has with a woman is disgusting regardless. That the fact that a man has sex with a woman is in and of itself always reprehensible. You're one of those, right?
Right. And all because I called them on the pro-sexual assault mentality of one of their hidden comments.

2. I know, who would have ever guessed that someone like that wouldn't get banned?
|
In fairness, you have to actually think about the implications of what he said to understand why it's pro-sexual assault and that thinking has to be done from the perspective of women as actually human beings with their own wants and desires.
I'm frankly surprised they haven't been banned for their posts that advocate violence. |

4. There are a few people on this board...
|
Last edited Mon Apr 30, 2012, 12:48 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1) who seem to conflate all kinds of things with 'sex' in general. Porn, prostitution, exploitation... all of these are used interchangeably with the word 'sex'... it's not an uncommon rhetorical device. It's dishonest but apparently effective, if indeed those people actually believe such things are no different than people having sex with neither of them requiring any financial or material incentive to be involved.
The presence of that mentality doesn't surprise me at all. We live in a rape culture after all. |

Last edited Mon Apr 30, 2012, 01:54 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1) You might see it as a continuum, and perhaps it is on some level, but this guy literally quotes Rush Limbaugh without raising any red flags (note his calling card, "are you one of those?"):
"Or you are of one of those persons who think even LOOKING at a woman is sexual harassment or that merely mentioning that she's hot is 'objectifying and devaluing'. Are you one of those persons?" "I'm not defensive; I'm just sick and tired of a very tiny (yet vocal) minority of women on this site trying to paint EVERYTHING men do and say as something disgusting or degrading to women." "When someone is being a bitch, I'll call her a bitch." "No, not all women. Just the DU feminazi's." on edit: I grok your point about using "sex" as a sort of straw man placeholder to slither out of subjects like rape/violence/harassment, but I wouldn't necessarily lump together the "few people on this board" who think (for instance) "porn is just sex" with one who apparently thinks "rape is just sex", although that might be a distinction without a difference if you see the former as enabling the latter. |

The hypocrites who keep toxic Rush Limbaugh spouting waste on this site should be ashamed of his continued presence here.
